When Jake woke up, he kept staring at the branches of the tree above him while showing an annoyed expression. He really hated those dreams… He wasn't by a far a sweet person, but those dreams made Jake feel like he was a much worse person than he was or thought of himself to be. He felt that he was a lot less annoyed than usual, so he couldn't understand how come those dreams come so often.

It was there… just as Jake had expected, a new skill. At that point in time, he wasn't surprised. He was just annoyed. He was annoyed because it wasn't something that he had earned and because it felt like something was taking over his mind. He considered stopping using those skills, but Hyper Body was a passive skill, so it was impossible to control. After considering the things that he had learned recently. It wasn't hard to imagine that the spirit of a dead man was trying to take over his body, and the after effect was those weird dreams.

Pride Incarnate: it increases all of your parameters by ten points per level when you make a decision and don't change your mind. When you start to doubt yourself, you will also receive a debuff on all of your parameters based on the level of the skill.

"A weird skill that has a demerit just popped out…" Jake said and then sighed. "It doesn't make any sense for the system to have this kind of skill. How it can even know when I am confident or not?"

Jake had a lot of problems to deal with, and now another joined the group. It was really a problem since he had never heard of anyone having more than one innate skill, so he couldn't look for information coming from other people like him. Regardless, Jake decided to change his mood by focusing on things he could do, like preparing for the next mission.

Much to Jake's surprise, he went to sleep in the middle of the afternoon, but it was already morning when he woke up. He underestimated his exhaustion, and now he was hungry and thirsty. As usual, he ate the fruits of the grove and drank the want of the river.

"The fact that I killed that guy without thinking too much about it, makes my theory more believably… while I wasn't exactly an upstanding person back then, I never killed anyone, even though I had the chance," Jake thought while he was checking his plants. "That guy was a cold blooded killer… could it be that his instincts are taking over my body?"

That was a bit worrisome… while it would help Jake not hesitate in taking the lives of scum, it would be a problem if those instincts become stronger than him. There are people out there who are a lot stronger than him, so if he makes a mistake, he will be hunted by dozens of them.

"In any case… I should see what I can do to keep those intincts in check," Jake thought. "As of now, I am still completely in control, but I need to be cautious."

In the end, Jake decided to have a day off before choosing his next mission to clear his mind. If he fights every day and all day by himself, he probably will give more chances for those instincts to take over him. Besides, he had to rest properly between missions. Although that was what he decided. In the end, he spends most of the day training flames of wrath and checking how Pride Incarnate worked. The skill was really weird. The more he believed he was right, the faster the skill could level up… while the bonuses in parameters weren't permanent, he still could feel his power rising.

"I guess this will be useful now and then…" Jake thought. "Nevertheless, it still annoys me… Let's just focus on leveling up other skills."

Jake wanted to make some potions and also level up the blacksmith class and Craft. However, he didn't have anything to use with those. He was keeping his vials in his magic box, but he didn't know how to make potions yet. His plants still were low in number, so perhaps it wasn't a good idea to experiment with them. With that in mind, Jake ended up training with his katana and long sword. The dual-wielding style was a pain in the ass, but it would be better to practice than not practice with it. Besides, Jake felt weird training with his shield without a target.

"If I don't want to rely on those innate skills too much, then perhaps I should increase my recovery and then use Mana Blade more often," Jake thought. "Using two swords will also make things more interesting."

In the end, Jake's day off ended up like that. Filled with training instead of proper rest, but at least he didn't have to be wary of monsters all the time.
