The Evil God of Hogwarts

Chapter 111 Dinner with Miss Granger

"Let me guess, are you in the restricted area again?" Xing Ze's tone became serious.

Although the plot is still developing towards the original story, there is an undercurrent surging beneath the surface. He is not even sure whether Harry will live to see the Philosopher's Stone.

It was safest to let these three troublemakers stay safe, but he knew that this was not realistic, so he had to show his dignity as a teacher.

If he can delay it for a while, at least he can find out what Quirrell and Voldemort are up to, although Quirrell has been suspiciously quiet recently.

"We're not going," Hermione shouted before Ron could speak. "We haven't been since that night."

"It's best this way." Xing Ze nodded, "Remember, children, don't judge a person by his appearance."

"That's not the case, sir." Harry was so anxious that he told Xing Ze all the things he found wrong.

"Harry, forget about this. It will do you no good to continue to pester him, at least not now. Believe me, Snape is definitely not what you seem." Xing Ze advised.

"Then help us, sir, and help us investigate together. They all say you are an upright and kind man." Harry shouted.

Xing Ze motioned for him to lower his voice, "Listen, Harry. I'm willing to help, but at least you have to give me something practical. You can't doubt Snape just because his leg is injured."

"He also wanted to jinx Harry to death during the Quidditch match." Ron said. "If it weren't for Hermione, Harry would be dead."

Hermione looked at Xing Ze with wide eyes. Although she didn't say anything, everyone could tell that she also wanted an explanation.

"He may also be reciting counter-curses. I think you all have learned counter-curses."

"That's impossible." Harry shook his head. "Hermione lit his robes on fire and he had to stop chanting the spell. Then...then my broom immediately returned to normal. This is the best evidence."

"Really? I don't agree." Xing Ze continued to deny. He felt like he was very much like Dumbledore now, and the old wizard also denied his suspicions.

"Why?" Ron asked.

"Because Snape..."

"No, forget it." Harry interrupted Xing Ze angrily, "Let's go, he won't believe it."

After saying that, he turned around and left quickly.

"Hey, Harry." Ron called. He looked at Xing Ze and immediately chased after him when he nodded.

"Aren't you going, Miss Granger?"

Hermione pouted and frowned and said: "They will be fine. And I need your explanation, sir. It was you who guided me to Snape in the arena, but now you deny it."

"Then keep walking, I'm hungry." Xing Ze said, "You can't talk on an empty stomach. But before that, I have to congratulate you on finding a friend, although your friend is a bit special."

"They are just a little impulsive, but they are not bad in nature." Hermione raised the book in her arms, "Please forgive Harry, he is not usually like this."

"I know he didn't mean to do this." Xing Ze smiled, "I think he will understand in the end."

The two found a remote seat in the cafeteria and sat down. Hermione placed her textbooks and notes on the wooden table with relief.

"Ah, herbal medicine." Xing Ze glanced at the textbook, "What were you taught today?"

"Devil's Net," Hermione replied.

When he heard this word, Xing Ze smiled slightly and said, "Then let me test you, how about it?"

Hermione frowned and replied, "You haven't explained it to me yet, sir."

"How about I give you the answer as long as you answer it correctly? That's fair."

Hermione thought for a moment, raised her head and said, "Deal."

"Very well, how can we dispel the devil's net?"

"Ah, this is very simple." Hermione smiled, "Devil's Net is afraid of light and warmth, and it can be driven away with flames."

"What if I don't know about fire-related spells?"

"Um -" the little girl lowered her head and thought for a moment, "I remember, what Professor Sprout said? Bright... bright..."

"Bright as day." Xing Ze continued.

"Yes, that's it." The girl clapped her hands, but she quickly put away her smile, "This is the second question, so it can't be counted."

"I know." Xing Ze shook his head helplessly, "That's not the point. I just hope you can remember it."

"Don't worry, sir." Hermione patted the note, "I took notes, and I have a good memory."

"I do believe that. Okay, it's my turn." Xing Ze cleared his throat. Hermione perked up her ears and leaned forward.

"If Snape wanted Harry's life, do you think Harry could survive that long with his ability?"

"But..." The girl was obviously not very satisfied with this answer, "Maybe he didn't have the chance to do it."

"Really?" Xing Ze raised the corner of his mouth slightly, asking an eleven-year-old girl to understand that this was indeed a bit high.

So he took out two candies from his pocket, gave one to Hermione, and put the other into his mouth.

Hermione took the candy politely, and while unwrapping it, she asked puzzledly: "Are you trying to bribe me, sir?"

After she put the candy in her mouth, Xing Ze said: "No, I'm not buying you, but I want to poison you."

"What?" the girl screamed.

"Oh, no, calm down, I was just joking. But think about it, Miss Granger, use your smart head. If that candy was really poisonous, you would be a corpse now.

"Snape is an expert in potions. I think you probably don't have any idea about it. Based on his knowledge of poisons, if you want to kill someone, poisoning is far more effective than a curse."

The girl was lost in thought, and Xing Ze waited quietly. It wasn't until their food came that Hermione raised her head and said, "What you said makes some sense, but it still doesn't explain our findings."

Xing Ze nodded and cut the fried fish steak with a knife, "Then continue to investigate until you have conclusive evidence."

While Hermione was deep in thought, Xing Ze realized a serious problem and he no longer objected to the investigation of the three children.

"We will." Hermione picked up a piece of bread and took a bite. "But if you are right, sir, then where should we start our investigation?"

"Let's start with Nico Flamel." Xing Ze suggested. He originally wanted to tell his guess about Quirrell, but then he thought that this was too risky for the three children.

This was also a problem he had just realized. Instead of asking them to investigate Quirrell, they might as well choose Snape, who was less dangerous. At least if he angered the latter, it would only be a deduction of points, and there would never be any danger to his life.

"Then do you recognize Nico Flamel?" Hermione asked expectantly.

"I don't know much, I just know that he is a famous alchemist."

Hermione sighed a little discouraged, then took a bite of bread and said, "Maybe the library will have information about him, well, there will definitely be."
