The Ancient Genes

Chapter 460 - Trouble(2)

"Why are you looking at me like that? Calm down...mistakes happen…" Lear said with a smile as he looked at Melan but it only managed to piss him more.

"It seems you have grown a pair in these past years that I didn't see you…." Melan said with a snort as he took a step towards them.

"Wasn't this an alternative in case I refuse? Are you going to disobey now?" Lora said as she looked at him.

Melan stopped and then looked at Lear, "Got lucky today…."

"Yeah, sure you did…." Lear replied.

"I think my orders didn't forbid me from protecting my dignity…." Melan said to Lora as his gaze still continued to linger on Lear.

"Will you stop it now?" Lora looked at Lear with a frown. She didn't want to see a fight here.

"Yeah sure, I don't have any interest in seeing this idiot's face as well…" Lear nodded happily.

"A trash is good at trash talking...I am not surprised at that at all. But your mother had a lovely voice indeed...I wonder who you took after…" Melan said as he looked at Lear. He had indeed lost himself in anger there….

Max shook his head. This Melan guy had a short fuse. He brought the Lord and the Lady of the Barnes House up in the conversation….and that too not in a good way. A bad move….

Lear's brow twitched and a vein popped out on his neck. He hadn't brought up anyone's parents and now this guy….

"Crash!"

Before Lear could do anything, a table crashed onto Melan's head. He wasn't hurt but had gotten quite a makeup with all the food over him.

"Who the f*ck is it now?" Melan's stomach churned in anger.

"My hands slipped as well….I guess it runs in the family…" A voice filled with laughter rang out in the cafeteria as the guy sitting in another corner of the cafeteria stood up and pulled the hood covering his face.

"Arthur…" Melan frowned as he looked at the guy.

"Brother…" Lear's eyes widened as he gulped in fear.

"You wait there for a second, I will catch up with you…" Arthur said with a smile as he looked at Lear.

Max looked at Lear and found it unbelievable. This guy wasn't trembling in fear, it must be excitement….right?

"Let's leave…." Lear said as he looked at Max.

His eyes were clearly showing fear.

"You are kidding me? You need to beat him in order to take control of your family...stand up like a man…" Max slapped his back.

"I don't fear his power but authority as the Young Lord...even though he is aoving guy….he is a justice rat….for a guy like me who was acting to be trash, he was an absolute nightmare…."

"I bet he still thinks the same….not to mention I ran away from home causing a lot of trouble...I am so dead…" Lear muttered as sweat began to roll down his forehead.

"Calm down, forget your family rules. It's the All Academy competitions now. We are enemies from different academies. You don't have to listen to him at all…" Max said as he looked at him.

"Yeah...right...it's the competition…'' Lear nodded nervously and took the seat.

A minute later, he finally calmed down....

"Get my message to Lora...she doesn't need to worry for me...that jerk can't do a thing…" Lear looked at Max.

"What the heck have you thought of me?" Max replied with an ugly look but still did what he could do.

"Hmmn…" Namen was watching the drama with Aria when a message appeared in front of her.

«You don't need to worry about me. That jerk can't do a thing…so ignore him. But if you still wanna play the hero, than don't blame for being the villain and taking a bite out of your right here….I bet it will be more interesting then…These are Lear's words to Lora...not me….now hurry up and do me the favor little sis…»

Namen looked towards Max who just smiled in return. In the end, she sighed in frustration and tugged on Lora'a sleeves before whispering something into her ears.

The next moment Lora's face changed. She was initially happy that he was worrying for her but it didn't even last a second and her expression soon converted into that of embarrassment and then into anger.

She looked at Lead and gave him a 'Hmph! I don't care anymore' tsundere look before sitting back on her seat.

Lear looked at Max, "What did you say to here?"

"What you asked me to…" Max replied.

"Are you sure? Why do I feel like there is more to it?" Lear squinted his eyes at Max.

"What reason do I have to say anything else to her?" Max said as he shook his head. "Besides, there is no reason for me to lie…"

"You brothers think you can just do what you want and get away with it?" Melan's voice attracted Lear's attention and he gave up on questioning Max.

"And you think you can get away with anything you speak?" Arthur said as he looked at him.

"Fine, then let's not use words to solve this…" Melan said as he took a step forward.

"I expect nothing less from a barbarian like you…" Arthur replied.

"So f*cking annoying..…" A low murmur which was oddly audible to everyone rang in the cafeteria.

Max's face immediately sank but before he could say anything the dude pushed out the chair and stood up.

"I have been patiently waiting for this to stop...but you keep buzzing like a bee...just take it out and let me eat in peace if all you are going to do is talk.."

Max sighed as he looked at Wilson. This had to happen. How could Wilson remain out of the picture?

"Who the hell are you?" Melan frowned as he looked at Willson.

"Shut up or fight or get the hell out of here…choose one for the three before I beat you up..." Wilson said as he looked at him.

"Huff! You people really have a death wish today….come…'' Melan said as yellow colored lightning began to sizzle around him and a pressure spread out from his body.

"Why don't we leave it at that until the competitions?" Another familiar voice rang out in the cafeteria as a person wearing the armband of Disciplinary Committee Head walked in.

Argus looked towards Max.

Max forced a smile on his face as he pulled Wilson down.

"I am in the Disciplinary Committee as well. If you do anything with that guy here, I will be forced to take action as well…''

Wilson looked at him with a frown but still backed down while glaring at Melan.

"You guys just keep popping up one after another….." Melan looked at Argus with a frown.

"You will make it tough for me like this…."

Argus looked at him and suddenly a strange aura gushed out of his body.

No one felt anything except for Max.

Melan who was looking at Argus suddenly calmed down, "Fine, I will see you guys during the competition…"

Max's eyes flashes with a strange light. What was this ability? Something like coercion? Did it affect the brain?

After all, when that strange aura made contact with Melan, he suddenly calmed down.

Argus handled the situation with ease and he had done so in the past as well. Everybody thought it was his u charisma but Max definitely felt that it was not so simple....this guys were arrogant as f*ck...unless they know that he was the grandson of the Lord of Ancient family, no one would give any sh*t to him...

Besides, what surprised Max the most was the strength of this guy. The stronger celestial should be at the early stage of Expert Tier if he was not wrong….it could be lower but not above it...

But Argus here was definitely around the late stage of Expert Tier and was not that far from the peak. Earlier Max couldn't sense it but now after his break through, he was well aware of it...

"Let's go, young lady…" Melan said as he looked at Lora.

"I changed my mind...I am not going anymore…" Lora replied without even looking at him.

Melan grabbed his forehead. He was almost close to having a mental breakdown. He then looked at Lear but there were more than a few gazes locked onto him.

In the end, he didn't fight. It would be a bad idea to fight with several people here. Besides, if he injured someone before the competitions like this, it might lead to another trouble..
