The Alpha's Return

Chapter 114 - Revival

Lucas looked around with a frown on his face.

All around him, he felt like the ground was shaking. Slowly, skeletons started rising, as if they were coming out of their graves. All of them got up and looked at Lucas with menacing eyes.

"What the hell is happening here? I thought that all the warriors who died would revive. Why the hell are they literally staying right here? This is becoming quite the hassle." Lucas commented as he started moving around with a little faster speed.

In no time, he was at the other end of the building. Bjorn, and the other warrior who stayed alive till now, were looking at the skeletons with shock.

"I know these skeletons. They are us. They are the warriors that have died while fighting with that wolf. One of them is Ragnar, and Ollimr is right there in the middle. Someone just resurrected all of the warriors that have died on the battlefield itself. I thought that doing so was against the rules. What is happening right here?" Bjorn asked with shock apparent in his eyes.

The skeletons started moving swiftly. They passed Bjorn and the other warrior as they ran towards Lucas. Lucas saw this and smiled.

"Now I get it. Looks like someone did not want to lose so badly that they had no other choice but to start cheating? Well, since you guys did something like this, then I will also take advantage of this. Fenrir, after this, you better close your ears because you will be hearing moans so loud that your eardrums will break." Lucas said with an angry face. His eyes were locked onto the skeletons that were approaching them.

"You just made one miscalculation, Brinhyldr. I already killed each and every single one of these warriors once before. What makes you think that this will be otherwise?" Lucas shouted towards the sky, or rather, the ceiling.

He then started slashing towards the skeletons that were approaching him. With every time he hit the skeleton warriors, the clacks of the bones colliding with each other filled the huge area. It was like they were in the middle of a horror movie.

At this time, as if sensing that Lucas was in trouble, Erik and the other warriors from the entrance of the building entered the fight.

"We were delayed in our preparations. It is time to start fighting. Bjorn! Wait. What is happening here? What are all of these skeletons?" Erik shouted with shock and surprise.

"They are the resurrected warriors. All of them are attacking Lucas. Now is the time to strike. We just need to get the two flags and put them on the pole there. Remember that." Bjorn shouted as he too ran towards Lucas to start fighting him.

Lucas felt a shiver at the back of his spine.

"They spent close to ten minutes on some preparations? There must be some plan that they had discussed before I arrived. I need to make sure that I am ready at all times." Lucas made a note to himself.

He continued to fight off the skeletons that were approaching them. Finally, after a few minutes of swinging his arms, Lucas saw blood in the air. He looked down at his feet and saw that there was a skeleton with a sword, slashing towards his feet.

"Looks like even Ragnar was not spared. But all of these skeletons work merely on instinct. That is not nearly enough to delay the inevitable." Lucas shook his head as he was about to destroy Ragnar with his feet.

"Huh?"

Lucas looked back down with confusion. Something seemed to block him from moving his feet. He saw a huge skeleton, clearly larger than the rest, holding down Lucas. Lucas tried to lift his leg, but it seemed that unlike last time, the skeleton had dug itself into the ground.

"They are really provoking me. If the valkyries keep messing with me, then I guess it is time to start messing with them." Lucas said.

He then started changing form. The white fur on his body started changing color. From white, it went to a pitch black. His blue eyes started changing to a blood red.

Bjorn looked at this change with horror.

"What the hell did someone do to offend him like this? Whoever made all these skeletons possible is up for a real problem," he said with a deep breath.

The huge army of skeletons that were swarming Lucas suddenly started flying in the air. Lucas himself was nowhere to be seen, but anyone could see a blue streak in the air. It was the trail that the blue flag was leaving, and it was what let anyone see where Lucas was going.

The group of warriors who were gone till now to make the 'preperations' was aghast when they saw that the blue streak was headed towards them.

"What do we do? The trap is elsewhere." a warrior asked Erik.

"We lead him there, you stupid idiot," Erik said as they all turned tail and started running. But how could a normal human outrun a werewolf? Slowly, one by one, the group of warriors that were left started decreasing in number.

At the end, only Erik was left.

"You killed Egil. You killed Ragnar. You killed Ollimr. You truly are the most powerful person that I have seen. But you forget the reason why humans are the most superior species in the world. We are clever. And you forgot that we have actually lef you all the way here." Erik grinned.

He then howled.

"Now!"

Lucas looked up. He saw that the sky that he was supposed to see was covered with a huge shadow. The shadow and the black dots started approaching him with a terrifying speed.

Boom!

Lucas was crushed in the weight of what seemed to be a few hundred tons of boulders.

"This is what will happen if you underestimate us. Now everyone that is left alive. Let us get to digging him out so that he can take the flags from him." Erik shouted.

Next to Erik, two others that had never appeared before in the entire battle, jumped in. They looked at him and nodded. Then, the three of them started lifting the boulders to uncover what was underneath.

"What the hell are you guys doing? Where is Lucas?" Bjorn appeared now, and he looked at the stack of boulders with shock.

"Is he under that? Did we actually succeed in killing him? No. That is impossible. Don't take away that boulder!" Bjorn shouted, but it was too late. The moment that one of the boulders was taken out, a blue flash appeared, and the two men beside Erik suddenly lose their heads.

"You are completely right. Humans are the most dominant species because of their minds. But do you know that humans are actually just a toy to play with for the gods? That is because the gods actually have power as well." Lucas' voice came from behind Erik.

Erik turned around with shock to look at Lucas. Lucas was in his human form. He had that track suit that he had come in with. The two flags were in his waist, and they gave a faint glow. There was not a speck of blood on him though, curiously.

"How are you still alive? It took us so much time to get this ready!" Erik staggered back with shock.

"You still don't understand?" Lucas smiled. His eyes were back to normal now, and he looked as normal as a man could be.

"First of all, you forget one thing. I can hear almost everything that happens around me. I would know if someone is talking about something. And the two people that you had working on this were not exactly mutes. So I obviously knew what was happening. I thought that you had something else done, but it looks like that was an overcalculation on my part. And second. I am just plain too powerful for you to handle. Ragnar would probably have won if I had given him a little more time, but I am in it to win it. So I am not going to be merciful any longer. You two are the only ones who are left from this place. Once you two die, all that I have to do is wait for the next ten minutes. So then. Good game." Lucas said.

His figure flickered, and Erik saw a blue glow approach him. But he did not even move. His head was faced down, and he looked at the ground with a bleak sense of hopelessness. The ground was all that he could see, and then, everything went to darkness.

Lucas glanced at Bjorn.

"Are you going to give up like this coward, or are you going to fight?" he asked.

"I know that we lost. But I am not of the habit of going down without taking a swing." Bjorn said solemnly. He ran towards Lucas. Lucas smiled.

"That was what I thought that you would say." he chuckled.
