This is the case for civilian passenger aircraft, and military strategic transport aircraft also have to calculate the cost.

A super-heavy strategic transport aircraft like the Soviet An-225 or the American C-5 "Galaxy" is certainly good and can cover almost all military large-scale equipment, but the real problem is that it can be suitable for this type of super-heavy strategic transport aircraft. There are not many airports.
