'A beast taming system, huh? That's quite generic,' Ning thought. Although, he did understand that it was hard to come up with any original ideas for systems.

"What does it let you do exactly?" Ning asked.

"Well, it lets me tame beasts, but that's to be expected, I guess," the slime said. "It lets me improve my rank easily and improve the rank of my tamed beasts. Aside from that, it also increases the amount of spiritual energy my body can gather."

The slime seemingly opened his system's information page to remind him of what else he could do.

"Oh yeah, I can also use the skills of the beasts I have tamed," the slime said. "I forgot about that part as I mostly use the skills awarded to me for ranking up."

"Awarded? Like?" Ning asked.

"Let's see, for reaching Rank 1, I was given the communication skill where I could talk to every other beast out there," the slime said.

"For Rank 2, I was given a storage skill to store non-living items. For rank 3…"

The slime kept on saying what sort of skill it got for the last 9 ranks, which had ended with it obtaining the flight skill.

Ning was quite surprised at the number of skills the slime was awarded but was surprised that there wasn't much 'rule breaking' happening here.

"It's quite a tame system," Ning said softly as he analyzed it. 'Is any part of it something that's considered illegal?'

<This system isn't egregious enough that it needs our intervention>

'So, it's like Ely's system huh? It won't hurt his soul as much?' Ning asked.

<No.>

<while his soul will get tainted, it won't be so bad that he won't get to reincarnate>

Ning nodded when he heard that. It was refreshing to see manifested wills that were curious about systems but weren't so deranged that they were willing to create systems that would bring upon them the wrath of the Energy system.

"Oh right, I wanted to ask. How do you have so much spiritual energy? Is there a reason?" Ning asked.

"Uhh… I don't know," the slime said. "I haven't really thought about it, but it's surely because of my system right?"

That was most likely true, but Ning still wondered just how it was happening. How was a Rank 9 beast capable of bonding with so many beasts and not losing the bond of the ones that came before.

After all, if you were completely empty of spiritual energy, the bond usually ended. This was why beasts that was summoned and then got into a fight usually disappeared because their wound is absorbed by their summoner's spiritual energy. And when that ends, the bond ends as well.

However, despite summoning so many beasts and humans, the slime never really went empty on spiritual energy at all, and that truly surprised Ning.

'System, what's the reason?' Ning asked.

<It's because of his body.>

<The system granted him the body of a slime beast, but it isn't some normal slime. Instead, most part of his body consists of the same material that makes up a spiritual pearl.>

<in essence, the slime body is just a giant spiritual pearl that constantly gathers spiritual energy, which it loses, and can also hold a lot of it at the same time.>

"Wow," Ning thought to himself when he heard that. A body that was mostly made up of materials that existed to absorb spiritual energy. No wonder the slime was capable of never running out of Spiritual energy. That was basically impossible.

'I can actually do that too if I wanted to, can't I?' Ning asked.

<Yes.>

Ning smiled. 'Well, if I was alone in the world and absorbing spiritual energy was my main goal then I would go that route, but since I'm mostly here to just pass my time while I wait for the other spaceships to arrive with their Space Drive, I don't need much spiritual energy.'

'Also, it's hard to interact with people if you're not a human. It's impossible to have them look at you as anything other than a beast even if you are more intelligent than them,' Ning thought.

That reminded him of something.

"Oh right, I nearly forgot," Ning said. "Once you reach the planet, how do you plan on meeting humans? Surely you don't want to meet them as a slime right?"

"Oh, don't worry about that. I have a way," the slime said.

"Hm, you do?" Ning asked. "Do one of your beasts have some sort of illusion skill or shapeshifting skill?"

"No, it's my reward for reaching Rank 10. Once I manage to reach rank 10, I can get a transformation skill. It looks like a timed skill, but I should be able to transform to a human easily," the slime said.

"Oh, oh good. That's better than I could have expected," Ning said. "And I suppose you won't have any problems with the language?"

"I hope not. The communication skill says it works with all beasts I tame. Since I tamed humans, I should have learned their language by now," the slime said.

Suddenly, Ning felt the slightest sense of his body being pulled to the side for a split second while at the same time, a few notifications started popping on the ship's dashboard.

Ning looked at the dashboard and realized that they had made their way to the sun and were now going to circle the sun a bit to change their trajectory towards Nulwurn.

The spikes in temperature were one of the information that kept popping up on the dashboard, but the system's AI was keeping an eye on everything so Ning didn't have to worry about anything.

After a few minutes, he finally stopped feeling the sun's pull and understood that they had moved away from the sun. Which meant…

Ning slowly opened the metal panel towards the front, which opened to reveal something tiny far away in the distance.

The slime couldn't tell what it looked like, but it could tell what it was.

Ning smiled at the slime. "Just 20 more minutes."
