Ning gave an expression of surprise at the sudden information that was given to him. He frowned significantly.

"Umbra died?" he asked the system.

<Yes.>

"How?" Ning asked.

The system immediately sent a quick explanation of the situation.

"It seems I don't have time to waste on these wastes," he said and crunched Bass's neck in his hands.

The dead man crumpled on the floor, dead.

Ning then turned around and slammed his leg on the rock next to him, killing the other man who was trapped beneath it. The rock pulverized, and the room was filled with its shards.

Seeing that all three of these people were dead, he quickly used his Sound Core to use a technique to create a feminine voice that screamed loudly.

"FIRE!"

The sound barrier he had put up beforehand would now be gone, and people would save themselves. Doing all he could here, he teleported away.

Randal looked at the dark Essence Soul that floated out of the dead beast's body and slowly stepped back. He stumbled a little when he stepped on something and looked back only to see a dead body.

All the dead that remained inside the dark world had been pushed back out it seemed. There was also something else happening here that he wasn't aware of.

He could sense weirdness in the space around him that was not caused by Essence at all. The room was large and wide when it should have not been. Was this the Space anomaly that his system had told him about?

He looked back up front and readied himself to fight one more time to defeat the Essence Soul that was in front of him. Just as he was about to, a figure appeared in front of him all of a sudden, teleporting in without any Space Essence.

Ning stood in between the young man and Umbra's Essence Sou. He gave the young man a strange look before turning toward Umbra's Essence soul.

"Good," he said with a sigh. "I made it in time."

The young man's eyes widened in surprise when he sensed a change in Ning's Essence core all of a sudden.

"Who… who are you?" Randal asked, preparing for another battle. Anyone who could surprise him this late in his life was no normal person.

"I'll deal with you in a second," Ning said, not looking at Randal. He turned toward Umbra's Essence Soul. "For now, I'll have to fix what mess you've made."

Essence poured out of his body instantly, the other 7 cores sending Essence to the active core to send even more Essence out.

Ning then took a deep breath and activated the technique.

Umbra's Essence Soul looked confused for a second, not knowing what was happening. The Essence Soul usually only had a general instinct as intelligence. Even in the Stellar Harmony realm, the Essence Soul didn't gain that much more intelligence than the Essence Soul realm.

Still, Umbra's Essence Soul seemed to realize something was happening around it, and moved to attack, regardless of if it was a good thing or a bad thing.

But for some reason, the Essence Soul found it impossible to move. Something was keeping the Soul in the same place.

Randal watched from behind, wondering if he should attack the man in front of him, but curiosity took the better of him. Curiosity in the intense amount of Essence that was being employed and the technique that was being used through that Essence.

'What type of Essence is that?' he wondered. He had never seen or felt such a thing before. He had been to many places and seen many things. Even the fact that the man in front of him had multiple cores didn't come as a surprise to him.

He had killed a man long ago who had two Essence cores as well. But whatever happening right now is too weird for him to not want to learn more.

Then, his eyes went wide in shock at the sight of what happened before him.

Blood that slowly trickled on the white marbled floor of the bright room retreated away, back to where they had come from. As the blood returned to the body, the body slowly moved as well, moving back up.

The two halves of the beast slowly joined to become one, while blood poured back into the body. Then, the Essence Soul also moved into the body, the connection between the two reforming, almost as if there had never been a disconnect.

Then, the torn space that had split Umbra rehealed itself, and Umbra opened her eyes, stepping back in surprise.

She breathed hoarsely while looking down at Ning, feeling the flow of a weird Essence around her. "What… what happened?" she asked with a confused look.

"I was notified that you died," Ning said, slumping a little. His Essence Core changed immediately as this one had been overworked just a little bit. "So, I came to save you."

"I… died?" Umbra asked, memories flooding back to her. "Then… how?"

"I saved you, of course," Ning said.

"You!" Randal's voice floated from behind Ning. His trembling finger pointed toward Ning in accusation while his mind refused to accept the truth of what he had seen. "You… Did you just…"

Ning looked back. "Yes, I did," he said with a small smile. "I turned back time."

Both Randal and Umbra gasped in surprise.

"Time Essence!" Randal spoke as realization dawned on him. "That Essence you used. That was Time Essence."

Ning nodded. "I used a localized Time Reversal technique to bring her back to life," he said.

"Bring… bring someone back to life?" Randal was shocked when he heard that. He had never even considered such a possibility.

"How… how is that possible?" he asked. "Death is permanent."

"It's only permanent when you let it be," Ning said. There were certainly many limitations with turning back time to revive someone, but he wasn't going to start explaining that to the man.

"Anyway," Ning turned around and faced the young man. "Now then, who are you? And why did you attack my beast?"
