Chapter 463 - Fate

Chapter 463: FateTranslator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation

Permanent Lock's accusation startled Qin Ruo.

He then realized he was no longer the carefree Aquamancer that strived alone. He was now the Clan Leader of Fallen Angels. Like Violet Orchid had mentioned, being at his position, he should start considering matters from his clan's perspective. Besides looking after the existing member, he was also held responsible to recruit more new blood into the growing Clan.

Permanent Lock was exactly the type of new blood he should recruit. The guy was a loner and had a substantial reputation as a Bandit. Any normal Clan member would think of inviting such a talent to join their Clan, but Qin Ruo was acting like a numbskull had not offered him up till now…

'Sigh, no wonder he would misunderstand.'

Qin Ruo smiled sheepishly and explained to the disgruntled Permanent Lock. "I created the Clan mostly due to my friend's urging. It's more like an experimental effort and I have not much experience in this. Matters like recruitment and management are usually taken care of by a few ladies in the Clan. Sorry for being insensitive. Hehe…"

"…" Permanent Lock was relieved and wiped away the sweat off his forehead. 'I knew it.'

"So, are you in?" Qin Ruo looked at him sideways and asked. This choked Permanent Lock who had just begun to feel better about himself. The Bandit widened his eyes then glared at Qin Ruo, refusing to speak.

"Ah, I see. You are not being serious. I heard that a lot of large Clans including those from the League have tried to recruit you before and you refused all of them. Damn, if you are not going to join why did you even ask. Tsk," Qin Ruo carried on with his monologue and took a dig at Permanent Lock.

The latter could no longer stand it. He looked around and rebutted angrily seeing no one was around, "F*ck you! No matter what, I am the famous Lizard Bandit who has at least made a name for myself in this game. Can you at least give me some face? What do you mean by am I in? Can you be more sincere? Do you actually know how to recruit people?"

"…" Qin Ruo shook his head, still confused. "I have never done anything like this. So are you in or not? Let's get this straight before we continue with other matters," As soon as he finished the sentence, his companion had lost all the energy to retort and said, "Whatever. You win. I am in, alright? F*ck you, is it that difficult for you to do some convincing pep talk?"

That person did not realize the slight smirk that was now forming on the edge of Qin Ruo's lips.

'How easy! You are too young to best me in this. It was obvious you were dying to join us but acted all aloof. Gotcha.'

Level 50 Bandit Permanent Lock has sent you a request to join Fallen Angels.

In response to the system notification, Qin Ruo quietly approved his request without showing any expression. The Lizard Bandit that had upset many Angel Faction Players had surrendered himself to Qin Ruo's Clan just like that.

The next second…

"Woah, we have a rookie. I've heard this name from somewhere before," It was Black Rock's voice.

"…" The new guy was a little agitated.

After Black Rock, Snowleaf's voice chimed in through the Clan's channel, "What a funny name. A Bandit named Permanent Lock. Does that mean even he can't unlock it? Hey newbie, say hi to your sisters and brothers."

Qin Ruo glanced at Permanent Lock beside him. 'Phew, good thing he can stand the mocking and is not overreacting.'

After greeting the seniors reluctantly with a monotonous "Nice to meet you all", Black Rock and Subjugator in the channel started to mess around with the newcomer who was trying to play it cool.

"Mm, what an obedient kid."

"Oh yes, I definitely have heard this name before. Have you done some perverted stuff before? Maybe lifted a lady's skirt, or streak naked through Moonrise City? Did you?"

"Impossible! I, Black Rock, will certainly remember the name if he ever did something so significant. Stop joking you guys!" Black Rock exaggerated tone made Permanent Lock scowl. He finally blurted, "I am Lizard…"

"Lift skirt?"

"Alright, alright. Stop teasing him you all. Welcome, Lizard Bandit." It was Fateless who eased the mood. This soothed Permanent Lock almost exploding temper, as well as his tightly gripped fist.

Nevertheless, Fateless was never a nice guy. He continued to speak in a calm and serious manner, "Hey rookie, if someone dares to bully you in the future, tell them my name. If that doesn't work, tell them Qin Ruo's name too. I guarantee that you can bully your way through the entire Angel Faction this way."

Ba dump!

A giant vein throbbed on Permanent Lock's temple.

Ever since he obtained the Two-Headed Lizard, he had always bullied his way through the Angel Faction. 'Why do I need to use someone's name? He is being sarcastic. This person is no Mr. Nice Guy either!'

Learning from Qin Ruo that he was the "Fateless" that he has always looked up upon, Permanent Lock went silent for a while.

He could not help weep, half happy and half disappointed. 'The saying is true. Rumors are indeed misleading.'

Qin Ruo muted their nonsense chatter and was pleased to finally have Galbis' Lair in sight. He shook his head seeing Permanent Lock had quickly got along with Black Rock and Helga through the voice channel. 'Now even if I chase him away, I guess he will refuse to leave.'

While thinking that, Fateless distinctive voice suddenly reached his ears. "I see you guys. But right now we seemed to have a problem needs to be solved first."

The channel went silent, then Qin Ruo saw what Fateless meant. The sky above Galbis' Lair which was empty a moment ago was suddenly occupied by three dark spots—three Divinity-fused Champions from the Demon Faction.

Qin Ruo tensed up.

"I have in my possession an Earth-type Divinity suitable for the Warrior Class. Judge, Subjugator, either one of you…"

Before he finished the sentence, Judge interjected decisively, "Give it to Subjugator. We are going to the Buried City tomorrow anyway so I can wait for a few more days. There should be a veteran Tier 5 Champion among the enemies up there. We will stand a better chance with Subjugator's Fire Dragon's Combat Aura against them." Qin Ruo had actually told them about Divinity on their journey here.

"Okay!" Subjugator knew this was not the time to display unnecessary courtesy. He gladly accepted Judge's generosity and revealed his coordinates straightforwardly.

"Wait for me down here." Qin Ruo informed Permanent Lock to stay put and quickly spread his Angelic Wings. He then flew rapidly toward Subjugator's position.

At the moment, Fallen Angels had three players with Angelic Wings on the scene. Once Subjugator fused with the Earth-type Divinity, it would be four against three then, which would give them a big advantage over their opponents. Moreover, Qin Ruo still had one final trump card in his hand.

On top of Galbis' Lair, the three Demon Faction players hovering there were Savior, Death Jesus, and Black Widow. The former two hastily gave up their Buried City mission halfway once they were informed that Qin Ruo had appeared at the appraisal shop near a small town immediately after his Honor Point was increased by 2000. Based on this piece of information, they deduced that the Galbis' Lair might not be completely looted yet.

Trailing behind them was a Demon Faction Elite Party led by Leon. If the treasure inside Galbis's Lair were a chest, then they would need the help of a Bandit.

But as soon as they reached the location, they immediately noticed two separate Angel Faction parties coming their way.

"We've got company."

Being at the vantage point, Death Jesus saw seven Angel Faction players emerging from two separate directions. At one side were two figures and five on the other.

They could tell their destination was Galbis' Lair too and could not help but frown. 'They must be here for the same purpose as us. All seven of them do not look like ordinary players."

However, the three Demon Faction players were a little confused. 'Though they might look strong, without Angelic Wings, what are they planning to do here? Don't tell me these geniuses are trying to reach the top all the way from the bottom most level?'

'That's practically impossible!'

But a few seconds later…

A glaring white light suddenly shone from the direction with less players. One of them disappeared from the spot right afterward. This sudden change startled the three of them and all their focus shifted to the Champion who was now flying toward the other five dots.

"Who is that?"

Savior murmured while gradually activating his Barrier. The purpose of the intruders, a player with Angelic Wings and a Bandit, was as plain as day. Besides, a party with Divinity-fused player apparently had introduced a certain degree of uncertainty to their plot of pillaging Galbis' Lair first.

If necessary, he did not mind the extra workload and would immediately go downhill to finish them off.

But as the three of them prepared to make their move…

Whoosh!

Whoosh!

Two more pairs of Angelic Wings appeared sequentially at the direction of the five-man party.

Another two Divinity-fused Champions!

Their breaths were momentarily taken away and their heartbeats grew insanely fast. At this point, the true identities of the uninvited guests were rather obvious…

Fallen Angels!

Winter Demon Qin Ruo!

The organization from the Angel Faction that could amass three Divinity-fused Champion in such a short span was no other than Netherspirit's Claw or Fallen Angels.

"This looks bad." Death Jesus sighed dejectedly beside Savior. From the moment he deduced out the real identity of the intruders, Death Jesus knew that their plan to obtain Galbis's treasure today was most probably going to be washed down the drain.

If this happened a few hours ago, he might not be wary of the three newly promoted Tier 5 Champions. Savior alone could hold back two of them.

But now, he would no longer underestimate their potential.

The real strength of Qin Ruo, who singlehandedly slew the Cyclops Commander Galbis, was beyond measure now. Even Savior did not have the confidence to defeat him quickly. Not to forget that Savior's Pet was instant-killed by no other than Qin Ruo at Moonrise City!

The odds was Savior alone might at most only be able to stall Qin Ruo and his Pet to an even fight.

The other two Angelic Wings owners were not easy targets too. They had coordinately killed Leon before this. The Terramancer who excel in gravity control was especially difficult to deal with. He also happened to have AoE Petrify Skill, which was a pain in the ass.

On the contrary, with Black Widow on their side, they were greatly handicapped in case of a dog fight.

As Death Jesus was contemplating whether they should terminate the plan, Savior grim voice rang in his ears. "The string will break if one overstretches it. He has definitely overdone it. It's time to let him taste the true difference between a newbie and a veteran Tier 5." Savior flapped his Demonic Wings and retreated from the air above Galbis' Lair.

"We shall stay back for the time being and wait for Leon." While talking, he suddenly turned doubtful as he looked at the six people that had regrouped at the plains far away from the lair.

'What are they doing?'
