Panda Novel

The person who picked up the staff but did not return it did not come from Dark Empire. Instead, it was a member of his own Century Flower.

“Century Flower does not need trash like you, scram!”

“You’re the biggest piece of trash here. Stealing bosses and taking all the equipment they drop for yourself without f*cking giving us even one piece, what do you take us for? Your servants?” cursed the corpse angrily by typing on the keyboard.

“Get lost!” Hua Feiwu kicked out that player as fast as he possibly could.

As he watched that scene unfold, all Chu Tiange did was shake his head over and over.

His expression dark, Hua Feiwu went to pick up the Destruction Staff.

“Bang!”

The Ball of Double Retaliation shot out a pillar of fire, and Hua Feiwu reacted quickly, instantly activating his Invincibility. However, he had not expected the flames to be this forceful, and even though the Invincibility meant he did not lose any HP, he was still pushed back the very force of it.

The duration of the Invincibility use reached its end, and the momentum from the flames vanished as well. Hua Feiwu activated his Invincibility one more time and retrieved the Destruction Staff from within the roaring flames.

Chu Tiange’s expression changed once more.

Hua Feiwu was the party commander, and the lives of the entire party was in his hands. What did he do instead? He actually wasted two uses of his Invincibility for nothing, just to retrieve that Destruction Staff. It must be said that he had already used his Invincibility once before this. That meant he had already used up all three tries of his Invincibility quota.

To do that for his own personal gain, even though he was the commander… How was that appropriate?

“Ranged and melee, everyone, just continue on! Beat ’em to a pulp!”

Hua Feiwu yelled that as he retreated to the back.

As a result of his actions, the players’ spirits fell into disarray.

Now that he had retrieved his Destruction Staff, Hua Feiwu was clearly no longer interested in the boss. He was probably scared that he would drop it again, and that was why he hid far away from the frontlines, even further back than the healers.

How could he possibly command the attack like that?

The Ball of Double Retaliation could not be hurt by ranged attacks, so melee was the only way to go. Besides that, the Ball of Double Retaliation would also unleash a large spray of fire randomly every minute or so. The melee attackers were in the most danger then, because as long as the flames stuck to them, there was an eighty percent chance of them dying unless they used their Invincibility.

Li Yi put away his bow as well, drawing his shortsword instead and rushing up to hack at the enemy.

Although Archers were very weak in melee fighting, trying to fight was still better than not fighting at all. Every little bit was a bit earned.

“Phoosh! Phoosh!”

The Ball of Double Retaliation began to spray its flames randomly, and it took a lot of luck to avoid this particular attack. Li Yi was extremely lucky the first time. The flames sprayed everywhere for quite some time, but he was completely unharmed in there. The second time, however, he had no such luck. A large wave of flames engulfed him from head to toe, and if he did not have the Blazing Heart equipped, or if he was even a second slower in activating his Invincibility, he would have died without a doubt.

The Ball of Double Retaliation sprayed its flames twice, and six more members of the party died. The boss, however, still had more than half of its HP left.

Hua Feiwu said, “There are fewer and fewer of us. Guild Master Chu, I think it might be best if we retreat for now and come back again after we’ve formulated a strategy, what do you say?”

When he heard Hua Feiwu’s suggestion, Chu Tiange’s expression instantly darkened.

The frontlines were fighting with their lives on the line, and instead of rushing up to help as a party commander should, he was actually suggesting that they quit at a time like this.

“The healers and the MTs haven’t died yet, we’ll make it if we just hang in there.”

Hua Feiwu replied with a half-hearted ‘Oh’ and looked around. His mind was clearly no longer here.

The loss and retrieval of the Destruction Staff had completely sapped Hua Feiwu of his motivation to fight.

The DPS rate was falling as well. By the time they finally made it past the second stage, Li Yi still had two uses of his Invincibility left, but the others had more or less finished up theirs.

There were five MTs, six healers, and eight DPS dealers left.

Out of the fifty-man party, only nineteen remained.

“Be careful, the Fire Beast’s strongest stage is starting.”

Karone Foresight (TN: the raws have the phrases reversed this time, eg. The Foreseeing Karone, but for the sake of consistency, we will keep them the same) barked out and waved his hand, emitting a ray of holy light that fully replenished the HP and MP of the surviving party members.

However, do not assume that Karone will help with the fighting. Once the old dwarf showed off his moves, he immediately ran into the distance and hid…

“Clack clack clack clack clack clack creak!”

The Ball of Double Retaliation shuddered, and before long, it had turned into a gigantic dragon’s head that stood upright on the ground.

The Fire Beast’s third stage would not move on its own, but its attacking methods were bone-chillingly OP.

The dragon jaws opened and sucked everyone present inside. By the time they were spit out again, everyone’s HP had dropped by half. After that, the dragon heart started to shoot out flames, and the pillars of white-hot flames wove themselves into a large net of fire. Be it the ranged classes and the healers or the melee attackers, everyone was caught in that web.

The Fire Net had extremely high ATK, and even MTs would instantly lose a large chunk of their HP should they touch it. As for the other classes, even a graze would mean instant death.

The Fire Net moved slowly, and without their Invincibility, the players trapped within it had no other choice. They had to move slowly with it…

Hua Feiwu was no exception. He was also trapped in the Fire Net without any means of escape.

The Fire Net would not disappear from now on, and the players had no choice but to move with it. The most OP part was that Fire Net would move quickly at some times and then slow down. If a player could not keep up with the rhythm and was scratched even a little by that Fire Net, they would just have to fall to the ground and stay there.

The number of deaths increased once more. The Fire Net had only rotated for five minutes, and the nineteen survivors had abruptly dropped to nine.

Li Yi was scraped by the Fire Net as well, and he used another Invincibility to survive it. It was much easier after that, as once he familiarized himself with the frequency of the Fire Net’s movements, he just had to run according to its pace.

By the time the Fire Net started making its third round, the nine people had been reduced to seven, and only then did the seven remaining players remember to deal DPS.

They had been so preoccupied with running with the Fire Net that they did not have the time to actually fight the boss…

Delicately Cute had died a long time ago, and there was no need to even mention Chu Tiange. As soon as the Fire Net appeared, he had already been taken out. This man played using the overwhelming power of his equipment, so he was an absolute beast when it came to dummy bosses. Faced with bosses like this one that required operational skills, however, he was way out of his depth.

Somehow, both Chen Yang and Fire Ice had managed to survive. The two of them were rather close to each other, so they discussed their plans as they moved.

Hua Feiwu was still alive as well, his operational skills being top-notch. He took the first round very slowly, but his movements had become smoother by the second round, and by the third round, he had become utterly familiar with the Fire Net.

Of the seven survivors, Chen Yang had it the easiest. He was a Summoner, which meant that he left all the damage dealing to his pets. Once his pets died, he could summon another with the wave of a hand, which was also why he had the steadiest DPS out of the seven of them, followed by Li Yi.

Li Yi’s DPS had already been in the top twenty before, and after he did some damage while surviving the Fire Net, his DPS rose to the top five.

In comparison, Hua Feiwu’s actions were just too disappointing.

He would walk three rounds before landing one hit, as though he was terrified of getting hit by the Fire Net.

With his operational technique, it would be no problem for him to attack as he moved. To think that he would be afraid of dying even in a game…

Karone’s Determination only had less than an hour left on the clock, so if they could not defeat the boss within an hour, this challenge of theirs would have officially ended in failure.

The Fire Net turned for more than ten rounds before it slowly faded.

Just then, a flabbergasting thing happened.

The party commander, Hua Feiwu, actually ran away…

As long as there was one person the party who was still fighting, nobody could leave the dungeon no matter what. If they wanted to leave the dungeon, they had to either use a special skill like the Hunter’s Pseudocide or the Thief’s Stealth, or else they would have to block the monster’s view point. If they could accomplish that, they would also be able to escape.

He could not escape, which also meant that he could not use items like the Return Scroll. Judging by Hua Feiwu’s actions, he was probably trying to run out of the dungeon.

Seeing this scene, Chu Tiange was so angry that he simply released his soul.

“Party commander, why the hell are you running?”

“What the f*ck is this? If we’re not fighting anymore then just say it, f*ck.”

Another brother of theirs was even more extreme. As soon as he opened his mouth, nearly everything he said was censored, “F*ck your c*nt mama in her motherf*cking p*ssy you motherf*cking piece of sh*t, go ahead and suck mah d*ck you little dipsh*t assh*t sunnovab*tch—”

The players lying on the ground released theirs souls one after the other, and soon all the corpses on the ground had vanished.

What were they waiting for? How could they still want to fight? The boss still had more than 2,300,000HP left, and there were only six people left. Ah, no, it was six a moment ago, but after the Dragon Head shot out another array of flames, only four remained.

Li Yi was still hanging in there!
