"What are you fools looking at?" roared Rebecca

"Didn't you hear the words of the Dragon Son? You men are sinners! Your freedom can only be gained by servitude to Dragon son and the state!"

Within just a few seconds, Rebecca's brutal crackdown on the soldiers had already started!

But all this changed once they received news that their very own city Lord was part of the notorious Zrudon region bandit group!

Once they realised this, the fear the citizens had felt quickly turned into disgust.

A pure and utter disgust at the city lord that they had never felt before.

Not only was he a crooked bandit, but he even dared to attack the dragon son, the very person who had been protecting them all this time!

The outrage at the city lord was so bad that if the people could find his resting place, the people would personally make a journey to go spit on his grave!

He had been playing them for a fool!

As result of this, the unrest that people felt for Dante quickly faded and was replaced with an even more fervent admiration!

And besides the attitude of the regular citizens, there had also been other changes in Vainwatch city

In this short period of time, the traffic in Vainwatch city exploded.

Every day, hundreds of soldiers could be seen pouring inside the city.

As the news of Dante defeating Lord Vale spread, fear seemed to enter all the hearts of the city lords

That's why when Rebecca travelled to the nearby cities, she was easily able to get some reinforcements. Sometimes, Rebecca didn't even need to go and the city lords had already eagerly sent in soldiers.

They had heard much about their fabled dragon son.

Prideful, powerful and yet somehow compassionate.

From the aura he displayed, they had to admit he was deserving of such a renowned reputation.

As Dante arrived, Rebecca spoke up.

"Dante, we're ready."

"I've already briefed the other people on the plan and their required role. There should be no problems. We're ready to move-"

Before Rebecca could continue, she was interrupted.

"I have a question."

Suddenly a squad captain spoke out, causing all eyes to look towards him.

"In this operation we are going to be required to risk our lives, all of us might not even be able to make it out."

"Rumours say that the bandit leader is in the martial adept realm.

Lord Dragon son, I don't mean to insult you, but your cultivation, it doesn't fill me with confidence."

"Gulp!"

Once the others heard this, they froze.

Although everyone had their doubts, they refused to speak about it.

As the squad captain said this, many others nodded.

Sending soldiers to serve the magic beast border was a regular occurrence for city lords, so many others here had actually had the same experience.

As Dante heard this, he couldn't help but smile

"Well then, this makes things easier." said Dante
