"Then… I want to be as strong as Aunt Jennifer."

Well, well, well, would you look at this foetus? Her age is still in the single digits yet she's already hungry for the power to rule the world. What a greedy child.

They say excessive avarice leads to nothing but destruction, but in my experience, that only happens when the greedy pig does not have the power to safely pursue their greed.

This child hungers for that power itself, however. And what luck she has, for she has the chance to ask for that power from moi.

Huh, maybe her insane luck is why Jennifer's investing so much in her.

"Haha, that's not-"

"Is that it?" I cut Jennifer.

Was she never taught not to interrupt when two kids are talking? How rude.

"…What?" Dora tilted her head in confusion.

"I mean, do you only want to be as strong as Jennifer? You may not believe it, but Jennifer is not the strongest person in this world."

Arteria, our friendly blood sucking fiend who got a new heart from me, should be more than able to whoop Jennifer's example.

"I… I only want the power to protect myself," Dora replied, her strong resolve shining within her eyes.

What the fuck does she want to protect herself from? Cockroaches? Just use bug spray, mate. No need to blow up your entire house for that.

"Well, Ms. Jennifer," I turned to the big gurl herself. "If you ever got surrounded by a thousand Ancient Dragons, with the Dragon Emperor leading the charge, do you think you could protect yourself?"

"Uhh…" her eyes narrowed. "No? Obviously not, yeah."

"See?" I turned back to Dora.

"1000 Dragons won't surround me!" She exclaimed.

"But what if they do?"

"They won't!"

"But what IF they do?"

"They… they won't," she turned to Jennifer. "Right?"

"No, they won't. Why would they?"

Leave it to Jennifer to try to fuck things up.

"But can you say that with absolute certainty?"

"Yes. There's absolutely no reason for them to."

"But you are not a prophet, are you? You cannot be completely sure."

"I don't need to be a prophet to know that Dora will not be attacked by an Ancient Dragon battalion led by the Dragon emperor himself," Jennifer harrumphed.

How arrogant of her to think she can see the lines of fate.

Well, I mean, there isn't actually a battle with the Ancient Dragons and Dragon Emperor in Dora's fate, but still.

"Let's change the situation then. What if you were being attacked by the entirety of New Dawn Guild? Do you think you could escape with your life safely?"

"Hmmm…" Jennifer rubbed her chin. "I may not be able to defeat them, but escaping with my life shouldn't be impossible."

Tsk, tsk, this noob.

"Wrong."

"Why?" She furrowed her brows.

"Because the entirety of New Dawn Guild also includes me. And I have far more methods than what you can possibly imagine to prevent a target from escaping."

"Hooh…" Jennifer's eyes narrowed.

"So you see?" I turned back to the wisher. "Even if you're as strong as Jennifer, you may not be able to protect yourself from everything."

"I-I think it'll be enough…" Dora quietly murmured.

"Nay! The strength you seek must be absolute. Only then can you protect yourself and those you love."

"Oooh…" Dora slowly nodded, question marks still floating above her head.

"So, tell me, once again, what do you want for your gift?"

"I…" Dora looked down at her clenched fists. "I want the absolute strength to protect myself and those I love no matter what."

Now that's more like a wish you ask the Origin himself to grant.

"Ask and ye shall receive."

I raised my hand. The next moment, a small, black sphere reminiscent of the Void itself appeared above my hand.

"Wait, what's that?!" Jennifer exclaimed, perhaps sensing the terrific, tyrannical power emanating from it.

Of course, before she could stop me, I was already in front of Dora.

"You ready?"

"Yes," she nodded resolutely.

I gently pushed the sphere overflowing with that horrific power inside her chest. The sphere sank quickly, as if it finally found the place it had been looking for all this time.

The next moment, Dora's eyes lost their shine, their deep blackness reminiscent of the Void itself.

The Void from where I brought forth existence.

Jennifer suddenly appeared, grabbed Dora and jumped away from me. Then she carefully checked Dora's condition.

After finding nothing wrong with her, Jennifer hid Dora behind her and glared at me warily, "What did you do?"

Now she's suspicious of me? Wow.

You can't even grant people's wishes in good faith nowadays. What a cruel world.

"It's alright, Aunt," Dora replied before I could. "He just granted my wish. I'm alright."

"Are you sure you are alright? Maybe you just can't see it. We need to take you-"

"Aunt, it's really alright," there was a hint of maturity in Dora's voice. "In fact, I've never been better."

"But still…."

Jesus, how stubborn is this woman?

"I did nothing more than stimulate her potential and slightly modify her fate. It's completely harmless."

I even removed some dangers that she would have faced following her fate. Jennifer should be bowing at my feet.

"…Stimulate her potential and modify her fate?" Jennifer's eyebrows furrowed. "Are you telling me you achieved what researchers and prophets have been attempting for so long yet never succeeded? Just like that?"

Why is she so surprised? According to her, I should be the most troublesome opponent the bloody bois ever had the misfortune of facing, so she should at least expect this much, right?

What a fucking baby.

"I'm just built different."

Imagine comparing me to mortal researchers who have shit for brains. It's pretty insulting, now that I think about it.

"Right, Azell did ask me to abandon my common sense when dealing with you. Now I know what he meant…"

First of all, how dare he? Second of all, he's absolutely right.

Azell read me like he was a horny teenager and I was an uncensored full colour vanilla hentai manga. Waww.

"Oh please, it's nothing that absurd."

For me, that is.

"Right," Jennifer rolled her eyes, then the air around her suddenly turned cold. "Just remember, if anything happens to Dora, I'll never forgive you."

Okay, so hurt Dora if I ever want to die by Jennifer's hands; duly noted.

"I shall keep that in mind," I turned to the lass in question. "I assume you know how to utilise the gift I just gave you."

I did attach a manual along with a quick-start guide, but let's ask just in case.

"Yes," she nodded.

"Good. Happy birthday."

"Thank you," a beautiful smile blossomed on her face.

Isn't Dora a bit too thankful? Don't tell there is something that she urgently needs to protect herself from.

Yikes.

"Don't you think that's a bit, you know," Jennifer asked.

"Anything for the bday girl."

To be more precise, anything for my own entertainment.

Dora, a person who seems to be very close to the Sword of this world, would become a God. The lengths she'll go to protect her Aunt should be amusing to watch.

I shall be looking forward to their adventures.
