Chapter 37 Department of Mysteries

Kronos is not a person who hesitates, he decides things in his heart. It will definitely take action.

The Department of Mysteries is on the ninth floor underground, and to get to the Department of Mysteries you have to go through an elevator.

"Department of Mysteries? You are a child, what are you doing there?" The elevator staff looked at Kronos suspiciously.

"Dumbledore asked me to go. He is in the minister's office now. If you don't believe me, you can ask them." Kronos pointed to the silver plaque on his chest. I have to say that Dumbledore's reputation is good, and the staff just glanced at it and didn't say anything more.

The elevator descended slowly for about a minute. Beyond the elevator bars, a crude corridor leads to a modest black door. After opening this pure black door, enter the circular black room.

Kronos was standing in a huge round room. Everything here, including the ceiling and the floor, is black; twelve identical, unmarked, and handleless black doors are set some distance apart from each other and embedded in the surrounding black walls, some with blue flames. Candles were dotted on the walls, and the cold, flickering light of the candles was reflected on the polished marble floor, making it look like a puddle of black water.

In the original book, the author didn't describe much about the Department of Mysteries, so Kronos couldn't figure out which one was the Hall of Prophecy.

The most important thing is that when the door leading to the circular room is closed, the circular wall will rotate rapidly, making it difficult to know which door came in.

Kronos pushed open a door casually. The square room looks very bright. The room was almost empty except for a table, and in the middle of the room was a huge glass tank of dark green liquid, big enough for Chronos to swim in it; many white things were slowly Floating around in it.

Kronos thought it was a creature like jellyfish at first, when Kronos wanted to get closer and observe. The white thing suddenly jumped out of the liquid, and the tentacles floating behind it immediately wrapped around Kronos' hand.

"Ah!" Kronos yelled and sat on the ground, his feet quickly flipping away from the glass water tank. What kind of jellyfish is that white thing? The crooked lines and shape are clearly human brains. The most terrifying thing is that its tentacles are clearly disconnected nerves.

Chronos believed Luna's father a little bit, and he even suspected that Fudge was conducting a terrible experiment of manipulating the human brain.

Kronos looked around the weird room, except for the door behind which Kronos came in. There is also a door on the side that connects to other rooms.

Chronos swallowed and put his hand on the handle of the other door. This one was larger than the previous one, dimly lit, square in shape, and sunken in the center, forming a gigantic stone pit, some twenty feet deep. The stone steps surround the entire room, like stone benches, gradually descending step by step, and each step is very steep, just like a lecture theater.

The center of the stone pit is a raised stone platform with an arch on it, which looks very old and dilapidated. Kronos is a little surprised that it can still stand there without falling down. There was no wall around the archway to support it, but a tattered black curtain or drapery hung on it, and although the air was cold and there was no wind, it was swaying gently, as if it had just been touched.

If Kronos remembered correctly, this should be the place where Sirius died. He was hit in the chest by Bellatrix and fell behind the curtain.

According to the original book, both Harry and Luna could hear someone talking behind the veil, but Chronos could hear nothing but his own breathing.

"The other side of this veil may be the land of death." Kronos guessed the answer in his heart. This veil may be like the Thestrals, only those who have truly witnessed death can perceive it.

There is also a door on the side of this house, and Kronos walked towards the side door without hesitation.

Chronos was lucky this time, looking at a dazzling array of crystal balls. Kronos knew he had arrived at the Hall of Prophecy.

The Hall of Prophecy is a vast, cold room, as tall as a cathedral, lined with towering shelves. It was covered with small dusty glass balls. On the shelf below each glass globe was a small yellowed label. Some globules glowed with mysterious streams of light, others were dim and dark, like blown out light bulbs. More candlesticks were embedded in the shelves at intervals, and the flames were as blue as the black hall. The group of shelves closest to the door of the Brain Hall is row 53. On the right is row 54, followed by row 55, and so on. The light in the hall was very dim and dim. The candles are located at the ends of each row of shelves, that is to say, from one end, the other end is completely dark. Some of the spheres glow faintly from within while others are cold and dull.

"The prophecy involving Harry was placed at the end of the 97th row and a little bit inward." Kronos trusted his memory extremely.

He found the crystal ball, but he wasn't sure. It's just that the crystal ball was originally dim, but when Kronos approached it, it emitted a burst of dazzling blue light.

Kronos doesn't know divination, so he had to hold the crystal ball in his hand. The crystal ball seemed to feel its owner, and its own blue light was even more rumored.

A prophecy sounded in Chronos' ears: "The child of demons and elves, the creator of the magic circle. It will open the gates of hell, and the demons will regard him as king."

Before Kronos understood the meaning of the prophecy, the phantom he saw in the Mirror of Erised appeared in his mind.

"Ah!" Kronos covered his head, and the thrown crystal ball rolled to the side.

Three-year-old Kronos holds a white-bearded wizard in his left hand and a beautiful witch in his right. Backed by a dense forest, in front of it is a pure lake.

This time Chronos saw clearly that Chronos' eyes and platinum hair were exactly like witches.

"Huh...huh..." Kronos panted heavily, and the vision flashed in his mind. But his forehead was already covered with bruises, and he seemed to have just experienced a big battle at this moment.
