Harry Potter and the Old Ones

Chapter 31 Potions Class

Charms class was on Tuesday morning, taught by a strangely small wizard, Professor Flitwick, who had to stand on a stack of books to reach the desk.

At the beginning of the first class, he took out the roll call and called Harry's name, and when Harry's name was read, he screamed excitedly, fell to the ground and disappeared.

Every Wednesday night, they use a telescope to observe the sky and learn the names of the different stars and the orbits of the planets.

Three times a week, they will be led by a squat witch named Sprout to the greenhouse behind the castle to study herbology, learn how to cultivate these strange plants and fungi and understand their uses.

I don't know why, but this class makes Tierra extremely excited.

Harry noticed that Tierra would chase after Professor Sprout to ask questions after class.

At first, Professor Sprout would answer with joy, but gradually, Harry could feel a hint of helplessness in the tone of this kind fat witch.

Probably the most annoying class was History of Magic, the only one taught by ghosts. Remember that Professor Binns fell asleep in front of the fireplace in the faculty lounge, and forgot to bring his own body when he went to class the next morning, which shows that Professor Binns is indeed very old.

During the class, Professor Binns kept talking in a monotonous voice, and the students scribbled down names and dates, and confused Merik the villain with Urick the weirdo.

Even Tierra was not as serious in this class as other subjects. Sitting next to Harry, Tierra had been reading a book called "Introduction to Alchemy", which dazzled Harry.

Because the class was so boring, Harry didn't bring other books to read, and he couldn't understand the book Tierra brought.

So Harry just lay sideways on the table, staring at Tierra.

Tiera is beautiful.

Harry had to admit this, at this age when all children don't like to be clean, either dirty or messy, Tierra's hair is always combed meticulously, and her face is as clean as a beautiful porcelain doll.

More like when he was reading, Harry thought.

Tierra usually has the corners of her mouth slightly raised, with a slight smile.

But when he concentrates on reading, his face will instantly become expressionless, even a little stiff.

It was only then that Harry discovered Tierra's eccentricity when reading.

In addition to staring at the book, Tierra's hand seems to be scribing every line and every word on the book.

"Since you're so boring..." Tierra suddenly looked up, took out a dozen neatly folded parchments from her bag, and spread them out on Harry's desk.

"Why don't you memorize this potion note." Tierra said, "This is some common sense knowledge I have summed up during my summer vacation. There is a potion class on Friday, since we have never touched it before. Magic, you should work harder than others."

"Bezoar? Cow stomach? What is this?"

Although Tierra's notes are very concise, with neat handwriting, each knowledge point is a line, and the spaces between lines are huge, and different key points are marked with different colors of ink.

But Harry was still dizzy.

However, there are also interesting knowledge, for example, the combination of narcissus root powder and wormwood can make a powerful sleeping pill called Life and Death Water.

Harry was debating whether to get his cousin Dudley a drink and trick him into telling him it was a bubble drink.

It was Friday soon, and Harry and Ron finally found their way to the dining room for breakfast without getting lost on the moving stairs.

"What classes do we have today?" Harry asked Ron, adding sugar to his cereal.

"Take two Potions classes with the Slytherin students." Ron said greasy. Tierra and Hermione were reading next to them. If Harry and Ron had any problems with their studies, they would be very happy Willing to answer, but they won't answer this kind of question.

"Snape is the Head of Slytherin House, and everyone says he favors his own students, now we can see if that's true."

"I hope Professor McGonagall will favor us," said Harry. Professor McGonagall is the head of Gryffindor House, but she still left them a lot of homework yesterday.

Just then, the mail arrived.

Harry was used to it by now. But when he was having breakfast on the first day, a hundred or so owls suddenly flew into the restaurant, which really surprised him.

These owls fly around the dining table until they find their respective owners, dropping letters or packages into their laps.

Tierra silently stuffed the half fried egg left on the plate into her mouth, and Hermione had already drank the glass of juice next to her when she heard the first owl hoot, Prevent the owl from hitting them.

So far, Hedwig hasn't brought Harry anything.

It flew in sometimes to peck Harry's ear, beg for a sip of toast, and then flew back to the owl house to sleep with the other owls in the schoolyard.

But this morning, it flapped its wings between the jam dish and the sugar bowl, and dropped a note on Harry's dinner plate. Harry opened the note immediately.

In very scribbled handwriting it read:

dear harry,

I know you don't have classes on Friday afternoons. Could you come and have tea with me around 3pm? I'd love to know how your first week went. Please ask Hedwig to hear back from me.

Hagrid

Harry borrowed a quill from Ron and scribbled on the back of the note:

"Okay, I'd love to, see you later."

Then let Hedwig fly away.

Fortunately, Harry still had the hope of drinking tea with Hagrid, because Potions was the subject Harry hated the most after entering Hogwarts.

At the opening banquet, Harry felt that Professor Snape didn't like him, so Harry was very disciplined in this class and arrived at the classroom ten minutes earlier.

Potions class takes place in a dark classroom in the basement of Hogwarts.

It was cold and damp, and rows of glass jars filled with stuffed animals lined the walls.

Snape, like Flitwick, picked up the roster as soon as class started, and like Flitwick, he always stopped when Harry's name was called.

"Oh, yes," Snape whispered, "Harry Potter, we're new here! A famous character."

Harry always felt that there was a tinge of yin and yang in Snape's tone.

"You have come here to learn the delicate science and exacting art of potion-making." Snape spoke in a voice that was barely above a whisper, but everyone caught his every word.

Like Professor McGonagall, Professor Snape has the intimidating power to bring order to the classroom with little effort.

"Many of you won't believe it's magic, as there's no foolish wand waving here. I don't expect you to really appreciate the beauty of that simmering cauldron with its white smoke and fragrance, You won't really understand the liquid that flows into people's veins, the magical power that makes people's hearts sway and their minds blurred... I can teach you how to increase your reputation, brew glory, and even prevent death, but there must be one thing, that is, you are not me Just the kind of stupid fools you've come across all the time."

After his captivating opening remarks, the class fell silent.

Harry and Ron raised eyebrows and exchanged glances.

Hermione Granger moved almost to the edge of the chair and leaned forward, looking eager to prove she wasn't a dumbass.

In the whole classroom, only Tierra seemed to be unmoved, still as calm as a porcelain doll with an expressionless face.

"Potter!" said Snape suddenly, "what would I get if I added powdered daffodil root to an infusion of wormwood?"

Today's experiment is very busy, but fortunately there are many worlds that need to wait, so I will send you a delayed update while I have free time~
