Harry Potter and the Attack of the Squibs

Chapter 15 Malfoy’s Determination

"Voldemort can see through many people's thoughts without having to read minds. Don't think that Occlumency can make you absolutely safe."

Lu Ke looked at Malfoy and shook his head.

Malfoy was silent.

The expression on his face was full of struggle, as if he always wanted to say something but never dared to say it.

"If you want to be a more dazzling hero than Harry Potter, you must be prepared to fall into the hands of Voldemort. Have you really thought about your parents?"

Lu Ke looked at Malfoy with sarcasm on his face.

Malfoy shook his head: "I'm not, I didn't..."

Lu Ke did not believe Malfoy.

"I know you have many reasons, the expectations I had for you, your feelings for Hermione, and Harry, he makes you feel uncomfortable, but you have to understand one thing."

"If you run away from home and join the fight against Voldemort, Voldemort will not do anything to your parents. Of course, he probably won't let you go just because of your parents' plea."

"But if you resist Voldemort in your own home, Voldemort will kill your family."

Malfoy shuddered.

He could completely imagine the scene Lu Ke said.

After all, during this summer vacation, Malfoy had witnessed Death Eaters killing people many times.

They are not the most terrifying, the most terrifying are the werewolves and dementors.

"I just... figured it out. I want to be with my parents."

Lu Ke watched Malfoy fall into silence.

After a moment, he suddenly laughed.

"So you actually decided to become a Death Eater?"

Malfoy was silent.

His expression was very complicated.

But in the end, Malfoy nodded: "Yes."

Lu Ke looked at him slowly.

"You know I wouldn't mind killing you, right?"

Malfoy shook his head: "I haven't graduated from Hogwarts yet, you can't kill me!"

Lu Ke was stunned for a moment.

He stared at Malfoy: "How do you know?"

Malfoy took a step back in fear.

"I didn't know..."

Lu Ke was simply stunned.

He looked at Malfoy and couldn't help but smile: "Are you deceiving me?"

And it worked.

Lu Ke nodded: "I hope your cleverness will be useful after graduation. Of course, you still have two years."

He turned and glanced at Mrs. Malfoy not far away.

"Enjoy the time with your family, two years..."

"Not long, not short."

Malfoy looked at Lu Ke in fear, slowly turned to the side closer to Mrs. Malfoy, then turned and left.

Lu Ke stood silent for a moment, then turned and left.

He soon found the three of Harry and Johanna in front of Flourish and Blotts Bookstore.

"What did Malfoy say?"

Harry said and glanced at Hermione beside him.

Lu Ke shook his head: "He is planning to join the Death Eaters, so he can inherit the family business."

Hermione looked extremely shocked.

But actually she was not the only one who felt surprised.

Harry and Ron couldn't believe their ears.

"Why did he do this?"

Lu Ke shook his head and did not answer.

Johanna glanced at him with a smile, then shook her head: "Don't worry, he doesn't really want to be a Death Eater."

Hermione breathed a sigh of relief.

But Harry shook his head: "Can he use dark magic? Can he hurt others, or kill people?"

No one can answer this question.

But everyone knows the outcome.

Black magic will completely change the wizard, and killing is unforgivable.

Even if some people pretend to join the Death Eaters, they have done bad things and can never look back.

Johanna looked at Hermione and shook her head: "Don't worry, Draco Malfoy has no talent, he may not have the chance to do bad things."

Hermione just shook her head.

"Okay, let's go shopping."

Lu Ke had no choice but to end this topic.

They squeezed into the bookstore together. There were people everywhere, but Lu Ke could still get a small preferential treatment. After all, Handsome Adventure Publishing House had just found a way to acquire the copyright of basic classic textbooks not long ago. Now Lu Ke could be regarded as Flourishes and Blotts is a somewhat respectable person.

They quickly finished their shopping, walked out of the bookstore, and headed towards the store on the other side of the street.

Harry bought ice cream on the way, as if he wanted to comfort Hermione, so Lu Ke had to buy it too to comfort Johanna.

The luckiest thing was Ron, he had two servings of ice cream to eat without doing anything.

There was a subtle awkwardness between them because of Malfoy's incident, which lasted until they arrived in front of the twins' shop.

This place is simply the liveliest place in the whole street. It is crowded with enthusiastic customers inside and outside the door. Mr. and Mrs. Weasley can't even squeeze into the store.

They were relieved when they saw Harry and the others coming over, and then looked at the twins' shop with complicated expressions.

Ron stood in front of the door and sighed as he looked at the lively scene.

“Does this mean it’s very profitable?”

Mrs. Weasley gave Ron an unhappy look: "Are you still thinking about money at this time?"

Ron shook his head: "But you can live somewhere else if you have money..."

He walked in cheerfully.

Harry and Hermione followed, and Ginny was already inside.

Lu Ke and Johanna stayed outside.

The Weasleys hesitated for a moment, but decided to follow in.

Johanna turned around and glanced at Lu Ke: "So as my general manager, don't you go in and take a look?"

Lu Ke smiled helplessly.

"Malfoy has learned Occlumency, can you still see his thoughts?"

Johanna smiled proudly: "Of course, he is just a self-righteous brat, and my ability is definitely not comparable to the magic spell."

Lu Ke nodded: "Does he really want to pretend to surrender to Voldemort and then find a critical moment to resist?"

Johanna nodded: "After all, the strongest fortress is always easier to break from the inside, isn't it?"

Lu Ke smiled helplessly.

He let out a long sigh.

Johanna glanced at him: "Are you lamenting Malfoy's stupidity or his bravery?"

Lu Ke was silent for a moment.

"I'm just sighing that people can actually have such a big change. The Malfoy I knew before was a man who was doted on by his parents, a stern person, and a coward who didn't even dare to say a wrong word."

The smile on Johanna's face disappeared: "Love changes, no one knows this better than me."

Lu Ke glanced helplessly at the door of the store.

"So the key is still Hermione?"

Johanna nodded: "But the strange thing is that between us, it seems that you have completely changed me, but you seem to have not changed at all?"

Lu Ke smiled: "Actually, I have completely changed a long time ago."
