Harry Potter and the Attack of the Squibs

Chapter 9 The Master of the Kitchen

"As for your test, just like Ravenclaw, control everything I leave behind."

Hufflepuff looked at Lu Ke carefully: "I left a key for you. It will take you forward, but whether you can complete the test is entirely up to you."

Lu Ke nodded.

"Remember, what the successor has to do is to completely replace the founder's responsibilities in Hogwarts."

With that Hufflepuff disappeared.

Lu Ke found himself still standing in the center of the small room, in front of the empty flower pot.

Nothing seemed to happen, except that Lu Ke had a brass badge in his hand.

It is a flat statue on a string, with five snakes forming a circle.

Lu Ke let out a long sigh.

It hardly looked like a Hufflepuff key, but a Slytherin key.

The Hufflepuff trials were full of surprises, and he felt as if he knew too little about Hufflepuff.

Although he respects Hufflepuff very much, because Lu Ke has always thought that there is no difference between the four houses of Hogwarts, an idea that only Hufflepuff will support.

Taking the badge, Lu Ke left this small room.

Lu Ke had no nostalgia at all, because now the room had completely disappeared, leaving only a narrow and dark space.

What Lu Ke saw just now may be an illusion, or it may be something that will disappear after the key is taken away.

Anyway it's gone.

Lu Ke sighed and returned to the kitchen.

Carrot is waiting for him here.

"You have obtained the master's token!"

Carrot shouted with ecstasy.

This elicited ecstasy from all the house elves in the kitchen.

They rushed towards Lu Ke together, and then looked at the badge and let out crazy screams. Several of them were even so excited that they fainted.

Lu Ke shook his head helplessly: "Is it necessary to be so excited?"

But the house elves clearly felt the need, and their ecstasy lasted for a long time.

Finally, as if seeing Lu Ke's impatience uncontrollable, they reluctantly stopped.

"Master told me what the test was about!"

Carrot stood in front of Lu Ke excitedly: "The successor must show respect and understanding for the house elves, and have enough ability to make the house elves admire him. Then he will pass the test."

"You have already met the requirements!"

After all, Lu Ke took the initiative to walk into the kitchen, teach the house elves how to cook, and treat them as equal friends.

There is no house elf who doesn't know all this, he has passed the test long ago.

"Now, there's only one last thing left."

Carrot smiled and stood in front of Lu Ke: "Declare it, Lu Ke, declare that you are our new master."

Lu Ke was stunned for a moment, then shook his head: "No, I will not be anyone's master."

Carrot and the surrounding house elves screamed in horror: "No!"

"A house-elf cannot live without a master!"

"And our master is the kindest person in the world!"

"The most beautiful in the world!"

"The most empathetic Hufflepuff in the world!"

"No house elf is willing to leave such a master, unless she has been away for too long, and the person who replaces her is Lu Ke."

Lu Ke shook his head: "You don't understand what I mean. I will not be the master of any intelligent creature."

He smiled at Carrot: "To put it simply, as long as your master continues to be Hufflepuff, I believe you will be loyal to Hogwarts, and that is enough."

Carrot looked at Lu Ke in disbelief: "But the master's test, the successor's test..."

Lu Ke smiled nonchalantly: "I gave up."

Carrot opened his mouth and remained silent.

Then he yelled, "Oh my God!"

"I want to disappoint the master! I didn't let the only suitable successor complete the test. I am a useless house elf. I should be buried in a flower pot!"

Lu Ke's face trembled with disgust: "Don't say such cruel things!"

But Carrot had no intention of stopping: "I let my master down. I am the most useless house elf. I want to punish myself!"

Lu Ke quickly shouted: "Stop!"

"I will continue the test!"

Carrot immediately burst into tears and smiled. With a flattering smile on his face, he walked up to Lu Ke and said, "Then accept the allegiance of the house elf, Lu Ke, you are our new master!"

Lu Ke shook his head: "I still need some time to complete the test, which is a bit difficult."

Carrot was stunned for a moment, then nodded: "It's indeed a bit difficult, this is the test left by the master!"

Lu Ke nodded: "Yes, yes, give me some time. You see, Hufflepuff is such a powerful witch. Of course it should have taken me a long time to pass the test, right?"

Carrot nodded, he was completely convinced.

"Come on Lu Ke, don't lose patience, this is normal, we all support you!"

Lu Ke nodded, and then left the kitchen as if running for his life.

For the first time, he felt how difficult the house elves were. They simply couldn't communicate.

Standing in the corridor on the underground floor, Lu Ke let out a long sigh.

He got himself into trouble that he absolutely didn't want.

Lu Ke felt sick at the thought of being the master of a house elf.

He headed outside.

Having just been haunted by a ghost from a thousand years ago, Lu Ke needed to breathe some fresh air under the sun.

Then he bumped into Snape, who had just walked out of the office.

"Lu Ke, I'm just going to find you."

Lu Ke was stunned for a moment: "Is something wrong?"

Snape nodded, opened the office door and let Lu Ke in.

As soon as he walked in, Lu Ke was startled.

Because there is another professor here.

"Professor McGonagall?"

Professor McGonagall nodded to Lu Ke with a serious face: "Lu Ke, I have something to ask you for help."

Lu Ke looked at Professor Snape behind him.

Snape nodded: "Let me tell you, it's about Harry."

Lu Ke nodded: "I can help."

Snape nodded: "That's good..."

But Professor McGonagall stood up and stopped Snape: "No, I think it would be better to make this clear."

She looked at Lu Ke seriously: "Because this will probably affect Slytherin's Quidditch results."

Lu Ke was stunned for a moment: "So what is it?"

Snape spoke: "Harry has shown extraordinary talent for flying. He is almost a natural seeker."

Professor McGonagall nodded: "But he needs training, and you, Lu Ke, Mrs. Hooch told me that you are almost the best Quidditch coach in Hogwarts right now."

"Of course...if you don't want to, that's of course..."
