Chapter 6 Interim Director

I saw that the director Alan Akush had slipped to the ground, his long neck was leaning on the director's chair, his face was pale, his eyes were closed, and he looked like he was collapsed.

"Alan, Alan!" Joe Dante the "twin" yelled in fright, running to the director, reaching out to grab the director, "What's the matter with you, Alan?"

Ronald stepped forward and hugged Joe. "Don't touch him, we don't know what the director is sick with, it may aggravate the condition. I have learned first aid, let me see."

Handing Joe over to Jim who ran over, Ronald stepped forward to support the director who was lying on the ground and began to check the situation. Put your fingers under your nose. Fortunately, there are weak but continuous breaths, tap the artery in the neck, and a pulse. Ronald breathed a sigh of relief.

"Jenny, Jenny! Come and help me." Jenny, the field recorder, ran. "So, help me hold his head with both hands." Seeing that Jenny was helping him, Ronald got up and moved the director's chair away, and then took over Jenny's Director Allen lay flat on the ground. He unbuttoned his shirt, opened his mouth and looked, but luckily there was no vomit.

Don't worry, it's okay. Ronald got up and took off his jacket, folded it in half, and placed it under the director's neck, keeping his head open.

"The pulse and breathing are all right, maybe I passed out from overwork," Ronald announced to everyone around him, "Please don't form a circle, please stay 10 feet away and let the director ventilate here! Thank you. "

After persuading everyone, Ronald discussed with the twins, Joe Dante, Jenny, and assistant Jim who were standing in the inner circle.

"I'm going to call 911. Now the director is inconvenient to move. I'll take care of it here. Joe can go on..."

"No, no, don't call 911." Twin Joe Dante seemed to recover, "Don't call 911, we'll drive him to the hospital."

"Huh? Aren't you members of the Directors Guild (DGA)? Do you have medical insurance?"

"It's not about insurance... Anyway, listen to me, we'll deliver it ourselves"

Ronald and Jim, Jenny and others exchanged glances, "Okay, since you said that, I'll go and drive in the car."

Joe Dante took his car keys out of his trouser pocket and handed them to Ronald, "Silver Ford Grenada."

I quickly ran out of the high school, and there were a lot of cars parked in the parking lot at the entrance, and I couldn't find where the cars were parked at a glance.

"Hi, Ronnie." A man stuck his head out of the crew's van window. "Where are you going in a hurry?" It was the crew's driver, Chris.

That's right, the driver of the crew stopped here to watch the car during the day. He had nothing to do, so let him drive the van out, otherwise the director's height of nearly two meters would not be easy to handle.

"Just right, hurry up, drive the van in, the director passed out, and we have to go to the hospital."

The driver, Chris, hurriedly put down the attic magazine in his hand and started the Chevrolet van. Ronnie climbed into the co-pilot, "Joe let's take Director Allen to the hospital, you and I have a hard time."

The Chevrolet van pulled into the school and clacked to a stop next to the camera. Ronald jumped out of the car in one step, opened the back door of the van, "get on from here" and then jumped into the carriage, caught the director's head inside, and the assistant director behind held director Allen's feet, "One, two, three !" The two of them forcefully moved the director to the ground in the back of the van.

The assistant director stayed in the car to take care of Alan.

Ronald jumped out of the car and closed the rear door. "Where's Joe?" asked the director of photography, "I'll give him back the keys."

"I'm here, and Joe Dante's voice comes from the front of the car."

Ronald handed the keys to Joe, who nodded to him, opened the passenger door, and was about to sit in.

"No, how do we shoot when you go?" Ronald was stunned.

"I have to take him to the hospital.

The assistant director will go with me, you and Dean will seize the magic light time, finish these few scenes according to your story, and then call the boss, he will arrange it. Saying that, Joe looked at the director of photography next to him, "Dean, is it alright?" "

The director of photography nodded and made an OK gesture. The assistant director got into the car, and the Chevrolet van turned around and opened to the school gate.

Ronald shouted at the van, "Wait, which hospital are you going to?"

"Cedar-Sinai Medical Center in Beverly Hills..." Joe's voice drifted over.

Ronald hadn't yet reacted from this miraculous operation. Jim slapped Ronnie on the shoulder, "Hey, you heard it, Joe Dante trusts your storyboards. I said, you're so specific, just find someone to take a picture of you. Just a split shot."

Ronald looked at Jim, unable to tell him the truth.

He picked up the electric horn and started shouting at the group performers: "Everyone, let's continue shooting. Reset, reset each group, we'll do it again right away."

Then he ran to the camera and asked the director of photography: "Mr. Candy, how long can this magic light be shot?"

"One shot before sunrise. About two shots after sunrise."

He turned his head and said to Jim, "Quick, I want 10-1, you stare first." After speaking, he quickly ran into the teaching building.

On the set, 10-1 was the code to go to the bathroom. Ronald rushed all the way to the bathroom. Facing the mirror in the bathroom, turned on the faucet, and splashed his face with cold water in his hands.

"Ronald, you can do it!"

"This is an opportunity that you can definitely seize."

"As soon as it's filmed, the owner, Mr. Roger Coleman, will put your name on the subtitles."

Ronald made a few self-suggestions. He wiped his face with his hands, and there were still drops of water on his eyebrows and beard, and ran out of the teaching building.

The various group performances have been reset, Dai Yang, who played the good girl, stood in front of the welcome stage of the Science Society, and the actors of the football team and freshmen also took their places.

Ronald walked up to Day Young and smiled: "Dai, we need another one to make sure we have enough film for editing. How do you feel about your acting?"

Wearing a pair of black-rimmed glasses, Dai Yang didn't know how to answer this question, "Uh, I think the protagonist Kate is a good girl, she will be a little overwhelmed when she encounters a bullying freshman in the football team, so I Mainly play this emotion."

"Fine, you did a great job. Besides, Kate, unlike the girls on the cheerleading team, doesn't usually socialize with the stars of the football team, so I thought maybe she'd take a half step back and stay away from these muscle sticks. What do you think?"

"Wow, I didn't know you knew acting, Ronnie. You were right."

"No, I'm just on a sports team in high school, and I want to date a student like Kate, but they're all avoiding me."

"Hahaha……"

Ronald guided Day Young according to the finished film in his dream.

Seeing Day Young relax, Ronnie walked back and asked the DP, "Mr. Candy, what do you think? Can we get started?"

"No problem, you come to give the order."

"Everyone pay attention, we will start the official shooting below."

Jenny started playing the board again, "127 games, the first shot, the second..."

Ronald picked up the electric horn: "Recording...camera..."

"Start shooting (!)"

Maybe a new acting method was used, or maybe the group performance was more proficient after the last performance. Ronald felt that this shot was better than Allen's. He looked at DP Dean Candy: "How's it going?"

"Very good, this one can pass."

"Jim, Mr. Candy said it's okay. Both this and Kamijou are printed."

"Ok, no problem."

Jim also took over as first assistant director after Ronald was promoted to interim director. At the end of the two lines on the shooting log, mark the word "printing".

The film used for shooting is a negative film, and after it is developed, it has to be reprinted into a positive film before it can be viewed. In order to save costs, the general director will indicate which shots need to be kept and which ones should not be discarded.

The camera crew is back up and running.
