Child of Destiny

330 The Final Exchange

Bang!

Liszt was sent flying right after blocking one of Shin's attacks with the blazing [Yamato]. And right after he regained his footing, he was immediately greeted by a chilling sword that was falling towards his head. And the moment he saw that, he immediately raised his saber to block the falling sword.

Bang!

Liszt managed to block the sword in time. But right after the collision, layers of frosts suddenly appeared on the blade of his saber, which was subduing the purple flame that it had.

Seeing that, he immediately put more strength on his arms before forcing a powerful swing with his saber. And immediately after that, he quickly distanced himself away from Shin for as far as he could.

Shin didn't chase after him when he saw that. Instead, he deactivated the 'Eclipse Wielding' and looked at Liszt. "Now I remember. That talent of yours is called the 'Serpent Body', which had some insane flexibility."

"And together with those special eyes of yours that can see the trajectory of your opponent's attacks, you are creating an illusion where my attacks are passing through your body."

Then he paused for a moment before adding. "Orbital Insight and Serpent Body. What an interesting talent combo that you have there."

Hearing that, Liszt suddenly turned serious before replying. "But it is still no match compared to your Battle Genius Talent and Immediate Response. You are a monster meant for battle."

"So~, are you going to surrender now? It will save both of our time. Though, I prefer if you choose to go all-out this time since it will entertain me even more," said Shin right after hearing that.

Liszt started chuckling the moment he heard those words and said. "Don't make me laugh. You might have some advantage in terms of battle prowess, but that doesn't mean I am going to lose too badly."

After saying those words, Liszt suddenly activated the upgraded version of his 'Orbital Insight' personal trait, the 'Transcendent Trajectory'.

The Orbital Insight was an ocular talent where someone could see the path of their opponent's attacks. It might be as simple as it seemed, but it was completely different from the possessor's perspective.

It was because their eyes could see some blue lines while looking at their opponent's attacks. And these lines were the trajectories that those attacks were going to take.

In some sense, this ocular talent was somewhat similar to Arthur's 'Foresight' talent. But this talent was a level lower than 'Foresight' since it was only dependent on the opponent's attacks.

What's more, the possessor of this talent also needed to have some trained reaction speed so that they could respond in time the moment they read the trajectory of the incoming attacks. After all, it was quite useless to see the trajectories of their opponent's attacks if they couldn't dodge it in time.

But it was a different story once this talent evolved into 'Transcendent Trajectory'. Because this ocular talent was able to see not just a single path of attack, but a bunch of them. The possessor could now see all trajectories of every attack that was coming after them.

Not only that, they could also see the possible trajectories of these attacks if ever they suddenly change directions midway.

The moment Liszt activated this upgrade version of this personal trait (In-game term for talents), Shin was able to feel the intense pressure that was coming from him.

Moreover, Liszt also activated his berserk skill which made Shin to have his grin to turn even higher. "Now, now. That's what I am talking about."

Then he took a quick look at the in-game clock before adding. "Though, I think I need to make this one quick since it is almost time for my scheduled Mentalism training."

After that, he suddenly swung the [Yamato] downwards. Then a bunch of golden runes was suddenly released from the sword, which fused with Shin's body.

'Weapon Skill (Yamato): Nephilim Ascent'

After that, he activated the 'Eclipse Wielding' once again while also taking his battle stance.

A moment after that, both Shin and Liszt simultaneously launched themselves at each other. And just like earlier, they were immediately engaged in a very intense melee battle.

But this time, Liszt refused to come in contact with any of Shin's attacks since he knew that he was going to be at a great disadvantage if that happened. Instead, he chose to use the flexibility of his 'Serpent Body' to dodge every attack coming from Shin.

Unfortunately, there were some limits on his dodging ability. What's more, Shin was getting faster as the time went by. On the other hand, his movements were becoming much slower every time he tried to block one of Shin's strikes with the [Nemesis Nullifier], which was enfolded by the power of the Silver Moon.

Well, he had no other choice since Shin was always throwing a pair of sword slashes where one of them was impossible to dodge. And between those two slashes, he was naturally going to choose to be slowed down by blocking the [Nemesis Nullifier] than trying to block the [Yamato] that would send him flying.

Realizing his current predicament, Liszt decided to gamble. He chose to decide the victor of his fight with a one final strike.

Having that in mind, Liszt threw a powerful strike to meet Shin's left-hand sword and forced the latter to take a step backwards. After that, he immediately used one of his movement skills to get away from Shin for as fast as he could.

Due to how Liszt executed those series of movements, Shin didn't have enough time to chase after him. And the moment he got his ideal distance away from his opponent, he immediately held the hilt of his saber with both of his hands before positioning it in front of his chest horizontally.

After that, he controlled every mana from his body before gathering them on the saber that he was holding. And as if he was not contended yet, he also absorbed the surrounding elemental mana before sending all of them on his saber.

Due to that, the saber suddenly lit aflame by a powerful aura that had different shades of purple color. A moment later, that aura also swallowed Liszt and created a massive figure of a demon wolf above him.

Shin was slightly taken aback when he saw the huge figure of the demon wolf above Liszt. But immediately after that, he suddenly started grinning even wider. "A one last bout, huh? No problem for me."

After that, he immediately released the 'Meteor Form' of his 'Mondi's Style' Legacy Skill and changed his left-hand sword back to its sheath form. And without further ado, he immediately put the [Yamato] back to its sheath while taking his sword drawing stance.

After that, he controlled the flow mana inside his body before sending them on his sheathed sword. Then, that sheathed sword suddenly released an alternating black and white glow that enfolded his whole body a moment later.

Compared to the massive figure of a demon wolf that Liszt had, the appearance of Shin's aura was much smaller. But despite that being the case, the former still didn't dare to underestimate his opponent.

Given that, Liszt was currently giving his all for his one final strike. And refusing to wait any longer, he immediately launched himself forward the moment his mana accumulation reached its peak.

And while he was rushing forward, the massive figure of demon wolf also started running towards Shin.

On the other hand, Shin was currently squinting his eyes while looking at his incoming opponent. And when the latter reached the ideal range of attack, he immediately pulled the [Yamato] from its sheath and swung it rightwards.

Immediately after that, a powerful energy wave was sent flying to greet his incoming opponent. And while rushing towards Liszt the energy wave suddenly transformed into a huge tiger that pounced at the incoming wolf.
