Chapter 5 Going to the Battlefield

That afternoon.

A military plane transported all recruits into the 102nd Regiment to London.

Colonel Phillips and Agent Carter are among them, and the pilot is Howard Stark.

at dusk.

They took a military truck from London to the front-line camp where the fighting was fierce.

Boom!

The sound of gunfire continued to come from a distance.

There was a mixed smell of blood and potion in the camp.

After getting out of the car, through a dozen or so dim lights, Gary saw many wounded soldiers with stumps and short legs being carried into a makeshift medical room.

Seeing this tragic scene, many recruits couldn't help but ran aside and vomited.

It was also the first time Gary saw such a bloody scene. He endured nausea and followed Colonel Phillips and Agent Carter.

"Lieutenant Colonel Bright, it seems that the situation is very bad." Before arriving at the camp headquarters, Gary and others gathered outside, while Colonel Phillips and Agent Carter entered the tent, but after a while they met with a lieutenant colonel The officer came out.

"Those damned bastards are so crazy. They don't care about the lives of the soldiers. Our defense line has been shortening." Lieutenant Colonel Bright said, looking at Gary and other recruits. He frowned and said: "Sir Phillips, is there no one behind? Send a group of recruits who have never seen blood, those senators who can only talk, want us to surrender!"

Colonel Phillips shook his head, "The veterans are also recruits, and they can use them after they see the blood. In addition, Senator Brad is actively mobilizing to join the army at the rear."

"It seems that there is really no one in the rear." Lieutenant Colonel Bright sighed. In fact, he also knows how fierce the battle is now. Even those retired veterans have been sent back to the battlefield.

Colonel Prips patted Bright on the shoulder, "Give them some time."

"That's the only way to go, I hope God bless them to survive!"

In the evening, each soldier distributed a set of combat uniforms and steel helmets, and the combat commander sent someone to inform them that they would go to the front line for reinforcements tomorrow and have a good rest tonight.

"Hey, Hodge, we're going to fight those bastards tomorrow, what are you thinking?"

"What else can I think about, of course I'm thinking about how to drive those bastards back to their hometown!"

Several soldiers in the dormitory laughed and talked loudly. Only in this way could they dispel their inner tension and fear.

Gary lay on the bed, took time to return to Luo Hua, ate some food, closed the door, and hurried back to Gary.

In the frontline barracks, he didn't dare to be careless.

boom!

The sound of gunfire in the distance was much quieter, only the gunfire was still so intense.

next morning.

"Instructor Carter, where's Steve?" Gary found Agent Carter while eating. Although he knew that Steve was cooperating with Senator Brad's propaganda and mobilization, as Steve's friend, Gary still had to ask.

"Steve has another mission." Agent Carter glanced at Gary and comforted him, "I'm going to the front line soon, good luck."

"thanks."

Frontline defensive trenches.

Gunpowder smoke filled the air, and there was a pungent smell of gunpowder everywhere, even mixed with the stench of burnt corpses.

When Gary and his soldiers came for reinforcements, the US-British Allied Forces and the German Army fought again after a brief ceasefire.

"boom!"

The screaming sound of shells came and went, falling on the trench, stirring up a cloud of dust.

"Da da da!" The Maxim heavy machine gun spewed flames, suppressing wave after wave of German attacks with a metal storm.

However, despite machine guns and artillery shells constantly harvesting the lives of German soldiers, the German army still desperately charged the defense line of the position. Under the cover of their own artillery fire, they

Crazy rush to the trench defense line.

"Fuck, these damn bastards are too crazy, don't they only have war in their minds!"

When Gary and others came to the third trench line, a black sergeant cursed.

"We don't have much ammunition. If we continue to fight, we will be hit to the first trench line!"

"The reinforcements are here!"

"They're here!"

Under the guns, some officers shouted loudly.

"Sergeant Fury, take these reinforcements and immediately rush into the first trench line from the flanks to suppress those crazy German soldiers. I will arrange artillery fire to cover you!" A lieutenant shouted to the black sergeant.

"What? Are you kidding? These reinforcements are obviously recruits. Look, some people's legs are weak. Now tell me, let them approach from the flank?" The black sergeant roared loudly.

The lieutenant ignored Sergeant Fury's words and ordered artillery strikes directly.

"Hey, what are you all doing in a daze, all follow me!" Sergeant Fury yelled at Gary and the others, and quickly walked along the trench line to the flank.

While walking, he also shouted: "Those guys playing with machine guns, hit harder, I don't want to die halfway."

Boom!

Da da da!

With the sound of artillery fire and violent gunshots, Fury knew very well that he could not miss this opportunity. He shouted at a group of recruits behind him: "Follow me, remember not to stop!"

After the words fell, he ran towards the first trench line suddenly.

Whoosh whoosh.

With a howling sound, the bullets poured towards the flanks of the position almost instantly.

Puff puff puff.

The sound of bullets entering the flesh was accompanied by screams, and the soldiers who followed Fury quickly fell down.

"Don't stop!" Sergeant Fury yelled as he ran, before he could turn his head.

And Gary took a deep breath, stomped on the ground, accelerated his speed crazily with his strength, and rushed to the first trench line in less than a few tens of seconds.

Da da da!

He immediately picked up a Maxim machine gun on the edge of the trench and started to sweep.

A large number of German soldiers who rushed to the trench ten meters away were quickly swept into a hornet's nest by machine guns.

Seeing this, Gary simply held a heavy machine gun and quickly fired along the trench.

Suddenly, the German soldiers were suppressed and could only retreat.

The firepower that originally attacked the flanks was also quickly shifted to Gary's side.

The pressure on Fury's side instantly eased, and they ran to the trench one after another.

boom!

Several shells landed beside Gary.

"Be careful!" Fury yelled.

Gary, who has absorbed cosmic energy, has far more reaction than ordinary people. When he heard the scream, he quickly hid in the trench.

A large amount of dust fell, covering him.

"Hey, boy, are you dying!" Fury came to the trench and pulled Gary up from the soil. Although he was cursing, his eyes showed an attitude of surprise and appreciation.

Gary patted the dirt on his shoulder and grinned: "Those **** can't kill me!"

"Nick Fury!" The black sergeant held out his hand.

"John Gary."

When the two shook hands, they knew each other.

"You don't look like a recruit at all." Fury looked at Gary and said.

Gary shook his head, "Now is not the time to talk about this!"

Gary was not at all excited to see Nick Fury, the legendary Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., on the battlefield. After all, this was a frontline battlefield that could be called a meat grinder, and he had no time to feel emotional.

Boom!

After another wave of impact was repelled, the German firepower became more fierce, and shells poured desperately on the positions of the American and British coalition forces.

Gary and the others stayed in the trench, not daring to show their heads at all.

"This group of damn bastards, don't they lack ammunition!" Fury cursed, and after the artillery strike ended, he shouted: "Suppress the firepower, give me a hard hit!"

The first trench line is very important. Although the 102nd Regiment was composed entirely of recruits, they still blocked the crazy German counterattack with trenches as bunkers.

Second, the soldiers in the third trench were relieved and organized soldiers to rush to the first trench to suppress the German attack.

Intense firefights continued from morning until night.

After night fell, the sound of artillery fire stopped, and the German army seemed to feel that they could not break through the line of defense, and retreated like a tide.

"call."

Many soldiers breathed a sigh of relief. Exhausted, they fell down in the trenches to rest regardless of their image.

Gary was also leaning against the trench pit, motionless like a dead man. It was the first time he had experienced such a cruel high-load war. Even though he had absorbed cosmic energy, he felt unprecedentedly tired, especially his mental state, which was extremely poor.

"vomit……"

Looking at the stumped limbs and broken legs in the trench, an overwhelming nausea came to my heart.

"Don't hold on, it will feel better if you spit it out."

Sergeant Fury next to him said softly.

vomit……

Gary couldn't bear it any longer, and vomited directly. Fortunately, he hadn't eaten all day, and all he vomited was acid water.

Fury shook his head, "It's hard to imagine that this is your first time participating in a war."

He didn't believe it at first, but seeing Gary like this, he immediately believed it. It was his first time on the front line, and he was no better than Gary.

"Drink some water." Fury handed over the military water bottle.

Gary was also polite, and took a sip of the drink.

After drinking the water, he felt much better.

"It was the first time I was on the front line, and I was still experiencing this kind of large-scale war. Your performance was much better than mine. If it weren't for you, at least these recruits would not be alive so much. I will apply to the commander for your military exploits!" Fury appreciated.

"Thank you, I already feel very lucky to be alive."
